Amazing. Nice job. I think a lot of us knew how tough this game was going to be and it didn't disappoint at all.
Hilltopper, thanks for the feed. I sat outside in about 15 degrees of weather with the laptop as I'm on the road. Worth every second of it.
A couple of comments
McNeal....can you PASS THE DAMN BALL on a fast break. Damn that infuriates me. Still does it in the 4th year.
DJ...clutch at the end, that's what seniors are supposed to do. I thought that last play was helter skelter....is that really what was drawn up? Can't believe it was, but whatever the case....huge.
NC State's last second shot....not good for the ulcer.

Nice win. We almost squandered it after being up by six, with the ball, the less than two minutes left, but they pulled it out.
I think we might have taken a little too long to start the last play but it did look drawn up as there was a double screen on the play. James was pretty open for that three.

Loved the point to Jay Williams after the shot.....Can't wait to see DJ get the same confidence he had his freshman year.

The big guy was McCauley, who missed the two free throws and got stuffed by Burke and DJ

The drawn up play had to be James streaking out the sideline off the screen. Screen broke and they double teamed hm up, DJ kept his head and moved out. Only thing he could have done was jack the three.

good job by Hazel, last 2 minutes was poor but who is complaining this is a huge conficedce builder for our raod fortunes this year. Ahhh Jerel...dribble drive....draw...and dish. 5th graders do it so can you. his brain farts put them on a 10-0 run in the first half too.

Jerel had a great game. Maybe not perfect but still great. Every time NCSU had a chance to pull away, Jerel kept us in it.

McNeal did not have a great game. I don't know how many turnovers he had but I counted at least 5. When the game was knotted at 45 to 45, he came down on two straight possessions, stuck his head up his kielbasa and turned it over.
He does not pass to the open man on fast breaks--wants to glory it himself.
If he would reduce those two, he definitely would be a great player.

Have to be happy about taking two out of the Tenn, Bucky, NCST three. With a shorthanded and just short roster, I think the "pre-season" has to be considered a big success. A road win against a decent ACC team will be a great boost as we get ready to head into the BEast schedule.
Pretty impressive what the big 4 are able to do without a legit 5 to help them out.

The last second shot play was, I think, an audible...they basically double DJ on the screen, and he backed out and stuck the 3. I was getting a little bit pissed that it took A LONG time to get going to the hoop. It was like 7 seconds before anything started...way too long. Well, just long enough, apparently... 0.4 sec left.

If you read Buzz's post game, that delay was on purpose. He said not to start the play until 8 seconds were left on the clock. He wanted to make sure that we had the last shot. Given NC State's last play, you could almost say we didn't wait long enough. ;D

Am I the only person who thought the last second NC State shot might have only been a two-pointer if it counted? Maybe I was just looking at it wrong, but it seemed to me that the guy had one foot across the line.

NO ONE mentioned it. He took off with his foot established a foot and a half inside the three point line. Just because he leaned back when he shot it and made it look like he was taking off with one foot doesn't make it a valid 3 point shot...that and the buzzer was already going off.
