I was told by a reporter friend of mine that Victor Rudd, 6-foot-8, 200-pound F from Las Vegas, has talked about four school more than others in recent weeks: Arizona, UNLV, Washington, Marquette. -- Tom Keegan, Class of '81
Please god no Victor Rudd. He's very talented but nearly ever recruiting service has mentioned that he lacks motivation and focus, and he's often wasting his talents. For example, here's ESPN's take on his play from earlier this year:
QuoteRudd was one of the major disappointments of the event (2008 Southern California Hoop Review). Rudd has the ideal size for the three spot and is very athletic in the open court. However, he has yet to develop the appropriate skills and savvy to play at the high-major level. Presently, he settles far too often for 3-point shots and rarely attacks the basket. In addition, he doesn't play with a lot of purpose in mind and as a result his stock is plummeting.
Rudd just left school.

Lacks motivation and focus, huh? Wow, you sure you aren't talking about Dashonte Riley?

Yikes. I obviously don't know the whole situation, but that article made him sound like Trevor Mbakwe part deux. No thanks!
Yaeh i dont think you can compare Riley to rudd. riley by all accounts is atremendous kid and goes to an excellent school and has performed very well. he also plays with numerous other big time D1 talents and is teammate enough to defer at times. Dont confuse being a good teammate with being unmotivated.
Here in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago the afternoon sports talk guys were drooling over Rudd and hoped Kruger could land him for UNLV. Kruger has a great feeder school in Findlay Prep. They're ranked number one (I think) in the country.
