He and Otule were suited up against Wisconsin and IPFW as well. Buzz talked about how he wanted them to feel like they were part of the team and experience the atmosphere for the games....but they still aren't ready to play. Target is still Presbyterian game.
No update, but they've both been suited up for the past few games.
I'd imagine Presbyterian will still be the return date.
I know Chris has had a limit of the amount of time he can be out of his boot a day, I believe it was 3 hours. Otherwise he's still wearing the boot daily. With Joe, as we've heard, it's going to be when he can handle the pain.
darn... i was hoping to see them live tomorrow night. thanks for the info guys!
Presby
I did notice Chris with the goggles on and Joe yelling in the huddles of the UT game. So close.....and yet so far.
I have reason to believe we may not see either until Big East season.
From the grapevine so take it FWIW.
Well, the BE season starts 3 days after the Presby game so either way we'll hopefully see them in action around the first of the year.

*Nit pick alert*
It's Otule, not O'Tule. Why do so many people think it's O'Tule?
I imagine people confuse it because 99% of last names that begin with "O" are followed by an apostrophe.

If Otule is out of the boot for only 3 hours a day, per an earlier poster, just how likely will he be able to play at a game pace in 10 days.? I think it is a reasonable probability Otule is not ready at all.

So
that's how he got so much of the Irish-American vote...

The games are only 2 hours. If he wears the boot all day, he can remove the boot to warm up for an hour, play for 2 hours, then put the boot back on. Hell, he could even put the boot back on at halftime for 15 minutes...
Saw Chris earlier this evening as I've been working at Humphrey. He had no boot on. The last time I saw him with a boot on was about a week ago. Haven't really seen him since that time so I don't know if he's completely out of it now or not.
EDIT: confirmed by Pat, "he's done with the boot"
Might as well red shirt both of them. The season is almost half over already, and it will take them another month to get in game shape.
There's plenty of reasons not to redshirt...and I'm one of those who believes everything before conference games is preseason!
We can't redhirt them. Even if we only get 10 minutes and 5 fouls per game from each for the next few weeks, it is still worth it. The only way we go deep in March is if these two contribute.
From the Buzz show, when Buzz was asked their status...
He said the goal has always been Presbyterian, and it remains the expectation. He would like to get them "a minute or two" beforehand if possible. He wants to have a good look before January 10 vs. WVU to determine whether to give a redshirt or not.
both played a decent amount of minutes. Looked a little rusty but it's good to see them in now just to have another game to work up to BE play.
