Title: 32 Free Throw Attempts a Game
Post by: MileHigh on December 16, 2008, 11:11:26 PM
ESPN kept saying how we get to the line 32 times a game.  If we make so many trips, can we focus sometime on free throw shooting?  Every time we get two shots, outside of Wes, we get 1 of 2 at MAX.  I don't understand why its so hard, end practice when everyone makes 10 in a row.  We will learn quickly.

There is still a huge difference between shooting free throws at the end of practice in an empty gym and in a big game in front of a visiting crowd.

Buzz says it's about being mentally tough.  I believe in shooting during periods of exhaustion at practice but we're not just missing b/c we're tired.  Buzz may be right, this team may just not have the mental toughness to make FTs.

If we're 4th in the nation at getting to the line, they had better keep trying to improve foul shooting or learn to score from the field instead of drawing the foul.
