I was at the Dayton @ Creighton game last night (I'm a student at Creighton) to see the Bluejays' slaughtering of the Flyers. Not gonna look good for the Warriors but Dayton just didn't look like the same team. Shot 35% from the field; Chris Wright held to 8 points on only 5 shots. Creighton was 13-25 from 3 and credit its D and crowd for taking Dayton out of what they want to do, but in all honesty Dayton just looked like poop. Shame on us for getting owned by them, but the wake up call has to come from somewhere right?
The verdict is definitely still out on us as far as how good we are.
It's natural to expect Dayton to play differently on the road in a tough arena in Omaha then they did in a neutral venue where they had the majority of fans (even if the overall attendance was abysmal).
Also, MU was the victim of a career game by Lowery. Regardless of being outclassed on the night, it's tough for any team to overcome a bench player getting 15 more points then his normal production.
I would also think that the home team hitting 13/25 3s would make it quite difficult on the visitors...

Could you imagine us if we could hit even close to 13/25 from 3 point land? Oh my.
It was Creighton's super bowl.....is this the right board for that?

sorry, just thought fellow MU fans wouldn't mind a little info about a past opponent.

Some nights I would take that as our FT%!

So far through 8 games this year our lowest FT percentage has been 60% against the rodents so I wouldn't think anyone would take 13/25 which equals 52% but one never knows I guess.

Yeah...you're right! 39 frickin' points.
Damn. Dayton wouldn't have had to pack it in on us that game!

Have you bought your IPFW jersey yet? Did you return your Badger one or will you still be on subtle Buzz dig program next season too?

Are you seriously calling Chicos out for not being an MU fan? Or did you just forget the teal?
For starters, he was one of the few who actually jumped behind Buzz when he was first hired.

I actually think Chicos will be too busy that day - will probably miss another MU game. Its all about priorities.

I think you and DKCL are joking, but with no teal it's hard to tell. For the record, I'll be cheering for MU all season long and until the day I die. Having said that, I still think it's too early to tell how good this team is. If that's reason to question one's fandom, well so be it. I'm a huge Cowboys fan as well, and I've questioned them since last year, even when the were rolling to a 13-3 record. Their defense sucks (until last week), Romo throws interceptions in Favre like fashion and there are too many malcontents on the team. I still wear my Cowboys boxers to bed ;D, still a fan but I call it the way I see it. They're good, but not that good and probably not good enough to make the playoffs unless they get lucky the next two weeks. MU, they're good but it's too early to tell how good. I'll stick with that. Ask me after we play Tennessee and NC State. And no, I won't be judging those games on wins and losses but rather how we play. I have us losing both games, would love a split, but more importantly want to see us play well.

Being a fan doesn't mean blind optimism. All the Packers fans who are flying off the ledge in droves around here are no less fans for doing so.
As a lifelong ND football fan, there's been a lot of negativity coming out of my mouth these days as well, but I still saw 5 out of 6 home games live, and plan to do the same next year, as nauseating as the play on the field might be.
As for missing games, I too missed the Dayton game that weekend, as I was with my family in NY for Thanksgiving. I really don't thik that makes me any less of a Marquette fan, because I put my family before a game, and I'm sure 99.9% of this board will agree.
nah man. If you ever put your family above a mu game then you are scum, worse than scum, you are something scum wouldn't even be seen with in public.

But Tom Crean always said that family was the most important thing!

Ahoya, you know you were just begging for a tealin'!
I do blame a lot of people [who stayed] in the area for not showing up; although I was < pleased with the videoscreen at the Sears Centre.
