I hope Lazar is doing some work here, if you know what I mean!
I would like to request that in all future posts we refer to DeAndre by his preferred nickname "Big Daddy" Kane.
Thanks.
Big Daddy still has us in his top 3, although he supposedly committed to seton hall last week. but now that either didn;t happen, or he decommitted:

"Big Daddy" doesn't even seem to know what he wants, much less anybody else. Besides, do we need another 6-4 recruit? With Cadougan, Erik Williams, and Maymon coming in soon, I'd like to hear a lot more about big men, not medium-sized wing players.

I have no idea what you mean. Care to fill me in?
I thought the same thing, one is from Pitt and the other from Buffalo...I'm guessing he's referring to both of them playing prep ball in Jersey.
this article is from 12/10. He didn't go to seaton hall till the 19th.
Aren't we done recruiting?
According to Zag's blog, Kane has reopened his recruiting as of 1-5-09, I think.
Yeah, the link i provided is from 1/5/09. and I think Kane fills a need in that he is supposedly a very good outside shooter. we don;t have many of those for next year, outside of Lazar, unless cubillan snaps out of it. and at this point, it seems to be pick your head case between Kane and Riley. Although Sherrod Wright is still an option.
Why would you lump Riley in with that? He committed to Gtown, but has since decided that he does not want to go? They have recruited quite a few good big men so he may see that it would be hard to get paying time? Kane I will admit has been all over the place.
we need a stud 2G
this is an old old old blog. he commited to Seton Hall. I have not seen anywhere that he has rescinded that.

"***DeAndre Kane , a 6-4 wing out of Pittsburgh who plays at The Patterson (NC) School for Chris Chaney, has reopened his recruitment, according to Evan Daniels of Scout.com, who quotes the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Kane verbally committed to Seton Hall before the New Year, but apparently told the paper he'll decide between Pittsburgh, Seton Hall and Marquette.
This whole story has been very hard to pin down, as Kane is not giving many interviews and even Chaney seems uncertain of what's going on. Last I heard from Chaney, the kid had committed to the Pirates. I'll try to follow up as best I can."
thanks...that is kind of a catch 22 with this kid tho. He has now commited and decommited to 2 different schools. So if he commits to MU is it worth anything even if he does does he then pull a Mbakwe as soon as the sledding gets tough (note the Milwaukee winter pun :o)

The notion that he decommitted is wrong. Kane has denied all along that he ever committed to Seton Hall. As soon as it was announced, he claimed it wasn't true. He then denied ever committing to them when talking to Scout, Rivals, ESPN and the Press-Gazette.
The only one who ever said he committed there was his coach, and it looks like the coach screwed up.

QuoteDeAndre Kane denies he's committed to Seton Hall
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, shooting guard DeAndre Kane has denied reports that he has committed to Seton Hall. The Pittsburgh native has narrowed his choices to the Pirates, Pittsburgh and Marquette and will decide in the spring.
"I'll probably wait until April to decide," he told the paper.
Kane is averaging more than 20 ppg at Patterson this season.[/quote/
please, gentlemen, please...it's "Big Daddy" to you
