Title: Why MU's win Over Wisconsin Set An NCAA Record
Post by: Tugg Speedman on December 08, 2008, 08:24:23 PM
Last week MU was 25 AP and unranked in Coaches.  This week they are 24 in both.

So this week the Big East has eight teams ranked in both polls.   I believe this is the first time in human history that a conference had eight ranked teams in both polls in the same week ('cuse became ranked last week for the first time.)

They are ....

School       AP      Coaches
Uconn        2         2
Pitt            3         3
'ville           9         10
ND             12       13
'cuse          13       15
'nova          15       12
g-town       17        19
MU             24        24

This NCAA record was possible because MU beat Wisconsin Saturday night and became ranked by both polls.

Side note - at the end of the year, anyone care to name the non big-east teams that will crack the top ten in SOS?  I'm think their will only be one or two.

Second side note - MU is 17th among non big-east teams.
