The game Sunday night was played at a pretty good pace based on the 76 possessions per team. The efficiency of the offense was terrible by only scoring 58 points, or 0.76 points per possession. You really need to be over 1 to have a decent offense.
The most disturbing part was how bad the half court offense was. MU was able to force 20 SU turnovers and turn those into 21 points. That means the remaining 56 possessions that were started by either a made basket of defensive rebound, netted just 37 points or 0.66 points per possession.
Basically, our half court offense got 2 points every 3 possessions. It was painful to watch in person and even more painful after digging into the numbers.

horrific.
this team needs to run and press more than it does. Our halfcourt sets will only help keep the opposition in the game. Still -- i think alot of this comes down to confidence --- one day soon this team will bust out of it and right the ship. Maybe tomorrow.
That'd be sweet
More pressing would be good. Stat of the game: Fitzgerald, 8 minutes, 0 shots, 0 ft's, 1 rebound, 3 to's 5 fouls. Yup, that sure is Novak's heir apparent.
nah, the line of the game was James' box score -- Fitz is a role player, bad games happen.
DJ's 0-7 from deep (1-15 in the first two conference games) and a season-low six points was shocking. DJ: 3-13, 0-7 from deep, 0-3 from FTs. yuck. he's too good for that to happen again.
Stat of the game......
Syracuse 70 Marquette 58. End of story.
Lets go get those Huskies!
