The Marquette page on ESPN says Marquette upsets Wisconsin. Marquette was ranked higher than Wisconsin at one point and Marquette is at home. I don't think I would consider that an upset at all.

In the rankings they use (ESPN / COACHES), UW-Madison was 22nd and MU not ranked. As such, they'll call that an upset (even though you're right, it's not). But that's the way the press has always viewed it when a ranked team loses to an unranked team.
ESPN is stupid.
Water is wet.
The Pope is Catholic.
What's funny though is immediately after the game on ESPN's website the heading had Wisconsin's ranking (22 I believe) beside their name and no ranking beside MU - as you would expect since it is, after all their website and their ranking. BUT, the story was the AP news story and it noted that 25th ranked Marquette beat Wisconsin (with no mention of the ranking). BTW, sorry if my rankings aren't correct, just trying to illustrate the point.
Romey,
I was trying to figure that out as well the morning after the game - MU was #25 in the wire feed and UW not ranked when during the game UW was #22 and NR for us??

Thats because ESPN will only look at the coaches poll when throwing numbers next to names. When places like the AP write the story, usually they use the AP poll, in which Wisconsin was not ranked last week. Just goes to show how worthless rankings are at this point!
Thanks for the clarification!
The Vegas line had MU favored by 4.5. How that becomes an upset, I don't know. I guess water is wet.

Vegas should have their own rankings.
I think Wisconsin fans are upset. That is good for me. I do not worry about the other stuff.
