Title: Depaul Discount
Post by: robmufan on December 04, 2008, 11:41:13 AM
So my aunt found something in the newspaper about getting BUY ONE GET ONE FREE to any regular season Deapul game.  You have to call (773) 325-SLAM and refernce the coupon SAVEHALF.

I just got 4 tickets in sec. 112 for a total of $84 ($40 each ticket, the two free, then $1 per ticket for proccessing).

I leave this for all of you to take full advantage of!!!

Great find, robmu.  I've posted a PSA on CS.

Beware those sneaky folks at the DePaul ticket office! I called to inquire about the MU-DP game last week (after seeing this half-off post) and was asked flat-out: Are you an MU or DP fan? I didn't order tickets that day. Then this morning I went to DP's ticket office to buy tickets. I was immediately asked if I was a DP alum. Fearing I would be told that the "best available" tickets I could get with my half-off coupon were in the upper-deck corner if I were to say "MU," I of course made a comment that allied myself with DePaul.

Just want to warn others that if you want to take advantage of the half-off coupon, the friendly people at DePaul will throw you in a concrete-walled room and shine the spotlight up your nose! Be prepared!

Of course, I might have been asked this question for something as simple as "market research," but I didn't want to take the chance.

I just got mine this AM.  $44 for 2 seats in sec. 116.  I called the office and asked for the half-off discount and the guy took my order, no questions.  Even when i gave my Wisconsin address.  I guess it depends who you talk to down there.  There's still great seats available.  Let's pack the "bc south" with gold.

It's a tuesday night, but not until 8pm, so that gives plenty of time to get off work and drive on down.

If you leave Milwaukee at 2:22 p.m., you'll be in Rosemont hours before tipoff. You'd get there by 4 p.m. at the latest, if not earlier, barring a snowstorm or jack-knifed semi. Plenty of time to eat at the nearby Steak & Shake, Krispy Kreme and other assorted Rosemont eateries.

just picked up section 112, 3 rows behind the MU bench for half price.  the guy said a handful were just returned.  did make some comments and questions trying to figure out who i was rooting for.  played it safe and said they are for my father who is a Depaul alum.  they really are, however he roots for marquette over depaul everytime and will be wearing the blue and gold.

Has anyone gotten tickets over the past couple days?  I've tried to call back multiple times, (both from my 414 office and my 708 cell) and have gotten no answer.  They also have not returned any of the voicemails i left about needing tickets.

on ticket master it still has lower bowl tickets available, but i can't use the SAVEHALF coupon.

maybe this is why the Allstate is always half empty... their ticket office won't answer the damn phone.

Maybe they're using caller ID and not answering calls from WI phones!

Thanks for the tip with the 1/2 discount.  I got 2 (sec 112) on 12/9, from my 414 number and wisconsin address.  The guy asked me which side of the stadium I wanted to sit on, MU or DePaul.  He said they were just trying to keep each teams fans together.  Not sure why the are not answering the phone.

I wanted to bump this thread to thank the person who posted the coupon and also to let people know that the deal is still going and good tix are still available.

I got my 2 tickets last week, Section 116 Row A, for $44 ($40 plus $4 processing fee), so there are definitely quality lowers still out there.

I tried calling a few times this morning and only get the general voicemail.  I wonder if they are done with the promotion for this game?  I will keep trying but was wondering if any other procrastinators tried getting tickets today.  Any luck?

Wow, just got off the phone with the ticket office and the guy asked me if I had the coupon in front of me.  I told him I wasn't aware there was a physical coupon, only the promotion code.  He said sorry but you have to have a coupon, which was sent out to Chicago area residents.  He then said there's a few "email scams" going around telling people who don't have the coupon to reference the SAVEHALF promotion.  I totally got homered calling from the 414 area code.  To top it off, he said there were "plenty of good seats available at the full ticket price."

I'm calling a buddy in Chicago right now to see if he can get a different result.  What a D-bag.

The coupon is attached to the first post in this thread though.  From the looks of it there isn't a unique ID printed anywhere on it.  If they ask you what publication you got it from, just tell them that your mom/grandma/aunt/neighbor cut it out for you and that you have no idea.

Oops, I'm an idiot.  Thanks Skat.  I'm having a Chicago buddy call.  There should be 4 more Warrior fans crashing the party.

Wow.  Give me a break.  Not only are they a joke on the court, but their business operation is just as bad.

Seriously, guys.  You're fans aren't buying them.  You were stupid enough to jack every ticket for tmrw. up to $40 each.  And then you offer a coupon to sell them for half price at the same time, completely defeating the purpose of selling the tix for $40 each.

You're an 8-14 basketball team in the third largest city in the country.  You haven't drawn more than 9,800 for a game this year. One would think you'd do ANYTHING to get a$$e$ in the seats and make some money, especially in a bad economy, regardless of who they're rooting for.

These guys make UWM look like an NBA team.

I had a decent experience with them actually. I used the code, got 8 tickets, but they couldn't give me an exact location. I thought they were trying to homer me as well, so I emailed the ticket office director. He got back to me within 10 mins, and assured that my tickets would be in the section I agreed to.

Sounds like they're getting bombarded with MU fans, and one guy had enough!

Ha, that probably sounds right.

Either way, this guy just can't recind the deal.  The fine print says it's good for ANY home game, and it expires on 3/1.  Only requirements is that you give the coupon code and are allowed a max of 8 tickets.

And if anyone asks where you got it from, say you got it in one of those Val-Pak coupon mailers.  I got one at my parents' house in Chicago, and that's where it was packaged in with.

Just to let anyone know who decided to wait till the day of the game like myself to get tickets, I had no problems getting 6 tickets in 105 for the price of three this morning on the phone.  The guy was extremely nice and didn't ask any questions about where I was coming from.  Hope to see a solid turnout at the game
