With this team's massive shortcomings down low, Dayton did the best job in this young season at exposing that glaring weakness. With Lazar in foul trouble the entire game, we had no interior defense and lost our edge on the glass.
Hopefully this disadvantage we have will turn around with the return of O'Tule and Fulce...but any opposing coach who's #1 priority is NOT taking Lazar out of the game, should have his head checked.
With Wes, Jerel, and Dom, all having relatively good scoring nights (and us still getting destroyed)...I think we all realized who this team's MVP is.
I'm not among the "sky is falling" crowd...but brace yourself for a much longer Big East season, then previously anticipated.
boy please, lazar mvp lol in your dreams, i dont know what mvps you have watched that only score 5 points when we play a tad bit of competition, foul trouble or not, he still should of been able to give us more then 5 points
I'm not sure he is saying he is our best player, but the fact is that if Lazar does not score and rebound and is in foul trouble, we are more likely to lose the game. Without him at the PF we are likely to get next to nothing from the PF or the center. Also When DJ, JM, WM, are out you can move DC or MA into the lineup and still be productive. With Lazar out the fall off is much greater.
The chain is only as strong as its weakest link. And the 4-5 is it. Hence, with another chink in the chain with Lazar out our strength is greatly reduced. Hopefully Fulce and Otule will add some armor.
