Post by: JSwarriors08 on November 29, 2008, 01:40:15 PM
Wow.  This is really special.  Those NFL players are such class acts.

sounds like barney fife goes to a club. With all the Pacman stuff, don't you think these guys would be much more careful.

That's just it.  They're trying to be more careful for themselves.

"I've heard the league say you don't need a gun. But if you haven't been in my situation, you really can't answer that question. I would never use a weapon in the wrong way or look for trouble. But I'll tell you this: I will protect my house.

My gun definitely makes me feel a little safer."

I think that's what MOST of these athletes who have them do have them for.  For their own safety.  And as he says, unless you've been in the situation you may not know what your feelings are towards it truly.  I can't blame them for protecting themselves.

Couldn't he just go to a safer club or stay home?

Couldn't he hire a bodyguard?

I guess I can understand that professional athletes are targets.. but that doesn't mean that he should carry a gun.

I don't care if the guy is protecting himself, but when you claim that it was at an Applebee's and your name is Harris Smith ala Ron Mexico style, there is definitely something else going on here.

minimum jail sentence of 3.5 years.
It isn't smart to have a gun illegally.  Hire personal sercurity.  Some rookie making leage minimum might not be able to afford it but plax could.

He claims he was worried about getting robbed for his cash and "bling".  Maybe, just maybe you should wear more money in jewelry than the cost of many of our homes.  And leave the $10K at home, as I assume most places take American Express.
