Title: Let's See the Adjustment
Post by: StillAWarrior on November 25, 2008, 08:15:24 PM
This is where Buzz needs to prove his coaching chops.  One of Crean's biggest weaknesses as a coach was his failure to make adjustments at halftime.  In the first three games, Buzz has looked pretty good.  Hopefully he'll solve this zone.

What adjustment is there to make?  They're playing a standard 3-2 zone, nothing special.  We have no low post presence whatsoever.  We've got to beat them down the floor or make 3s.  We've got no other options.

I have absolutely no love for TC, nor did I feel he was a great game coach, but I often felt like MU would go on a run, or at least get better looks coming out of the half.  I've seen the same thing with Buzz, which I've been pleasantly surprised with.

Funny how two people can have different perspectives, because I'm probably a bigger Crean fan than a lot of people on this board, but I think making in-game adjustments was one of his bigger weaknesses.

If it makes any sense, I thought he was a poor "in game" coach, but his half time adjustments were decent.  I always figured his assistants had input at halftime, but not as much during the course of the game.
