So TC gives the nod for Lazar to start, then decides to sit him for most of the 2nd half? Lazar had good first half and seemed to be the only other player to even try and match McNeal's intensity tonight...so why sit him almost the entire second half? Am I missing something? I mean I understand the theory of trying to match up against their size by playing Burke...but at some point theory must give way to reality.
WHat is really puzzling is they weren't really killing us inside like Providence was. Changes needed to be made vs. Providence. Here they didn't need to be, IMO. I agree, Hayward (and Cubillian) were the only ones matching McNeal's intensity, although I thought Matthews had some good plays too.
I too was confused as to why Lazar wasn't in there for LONG stretches... he rebounded well and worked for good position underneath. He deserved more then that 18-19 minutes he got
exactly, and Lott played more down the stretch than Lazar?
Besides McNeal and maybe Cubillian this team has some serious confidence problems. From DJ to Fitz to even Barro...
And Fitz was an absolute liability tonight. Just down right terrible
I would say that Matthews deserves to be recognized for playing a good game tonight as well. He practically carried the team for a short stretch there, and he seemed to be playing well all night.
It seems like whenever the players or player starts to click or get going Crean pulls them..absolutely terrible substitutions tonite. Lazar should've played a lot more..I was really disappointed with the team in general tonite....and where was Dominic?? In all honesty, at this point and with current play I would have Lazar as a member of the starting five.

Lazar DID start tonight...
