Title: Tickets on Sale
Post by: tckmu24 on October 18, 2008, 10:15:04 AM
Does anyone know what time individual game tickets can be bought by a season ticket holder?  It says that they are available on 10/18 (today), but no time is given.  Just curious because I have a bunch to buy.

I was curious too, and I think it's based on a point system. Highest point totals go first, then every hour they open it up to more, and so on. I think 3pm is when they go on sale to all season ticket holders regardless of point total.

Since I have under 50, I'll be waiting a while... >:(

Yeah, I am at 28.  I was all excited and was ready to buy at 10am (when I thought I could buy them).  I guess I will just try every so often and hope I get thru.  I would assume nothing will sell out today though.  Maybe Wisco?

Probably nothing will sell out today, but hard telling. Regardless, may be slim pickings for decent seats for some bigger games by the time us with lower points can get through.

It will help with Wisconsin that the cap is 4 per account (I believe it is anyway).

I'm just an old out of state alum, can someone enlighten me on the "points" issue?  Just curious.

I just got my tickets in the 11 a.m. group.  The 4 purchased for Wisconsin were $9 seats and they are in section 413 row N, so there appear to be plenty in that price category in that south end zone.  I didn't check the $15 seats to see what was available.

They only give you 30 minutes to complete your purchase and checkout.  I dídn't have a lot to buy, but the tedious process took the whole 30 minutes.

A couple comments, they tack on the $1 Bradley Center fee plus a $2 Ticketron fee for every ticket purchased.  When it came time to confirm the tickets on checkout, they have drop down boxes for each game for ticket delivery method.  The only choice is Will call.  The message above is that the only means of delivery will be via printing your tickets at home and the delivery method is not valid.  However, it wouldn't let me check out if I didn't mark every game with the will call box.

Good luck in all the good MU fans getting seats.

Every year, I buy these singles .. and (in years past) there is an option for "mail my tickets" .. but they are NEVER mailed.  Eventually, I'll call the MU ticket office and tell them to print them and send them to me.  -- Very irritating.

Does anyone know where the link is on the My Marquette Account page?  I should be able to buy tickets at this point, but I can't find the link.  Thanks.

Donations = points.
Number of years as a season ticket holder = points
Number of degrees from MU = points
Scholarship athlete = points.

I may have missed something, but the main category is $ .

At Gomarquette.com, click the My Marquette Account box on the right side of the page next to the Buzz video. It takes you to the ticketmaster page where you enter your account number and password.

You also get more points for donations to Blue & Gold Club versus general donations to the University and more points for recent donations versus donations made over the years.  Keeps fresh funds flowing.

No points for paying your children's tuition however!

Just an FYI- It sounds like you can only buy 4 tickets at a time for the MU/WI game, but my friend was able to buy another two tickets in another separate transaction. Looks like there is a loophole folks..lets fill it up with blue and gold!

Trust me, they will take away those tickets.  I did that 2 years ago, and they called me a few days later, refunded my $ and took the extras.

Man .. What a HORRIBLE experience.

I finally finished buying tickets.   I began at 3:00 .. loaded up my cart with 8 games worth of tickets .. clicked submit .. "Sorry, you toook too long."  I looked down .. it was 3:19.  19 minutes had elapsed.

WHAT????

Here's what it says on Ticketmaster on the select ticket page:  You have 10 minutes to proceed to checkout or add another event to your cart. You have 30 minutes to finalize your cart and proceed to checkout. If you exceed these time limits, your tickets will be released and your cart will be emptied.

Now .. clearly, I was done in under 30 minutes.  AND, I was adding something to my cart every 2-3 minutes.  So pissed.

So I start again.  I add 4 games in about 8 minutes.  SORRY.  Your cart is cleared again. F*** F*** F***

So I start AGAIN.  I add 2 games in maybe 3 minutes.  SORRY.  Too long.

Finally, I give up.  I add just 1 game, check out.  Add 1 game, check out.  8 times over.

So when Ticketmaster gives you a link to "Continue Shopping" IGNORE IT!

Most of the games, my seats got worse from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd attempts .. although one game, I ended up with better seats.  When I first tried for GTown tickets, it kept putting me up in row X, Sec 403.  Half an hour later, it gave me 441 M, a dozen rows closer to the court .. Ticketmaster's placement algorithm sucks .. puts you up in the rafters before moving one section over and way closer.

So pissed.     >:(  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Next time you may want to consider buying tix from One-Legged Morry outside the BC. Nice guy and the seats are better with less hassle. Cash only, however.

OK, just bought my extra tiks for the UW at Madison vs Marquette game and right away this morning the system would not let me purchase more than singles.  I then talked to a friend who logged in about 30 mins ago and he was able to get 2 sets of 2 together, so I logged back in and was able to get a group of 4 this time.  F'in ridiculous.

Sad, and funny .. I received an email today from MU saying my order for more than 4 UW tickets was denied, and I would be receiving a refund.

Sad, because I only placed ONE successful order for 4 tickets for that game.

I think what happened was .. in my 4 attempts at TRYING to buy tickets, where Ticketmaster cleared my cart, or simply errored out  .. one of them must have partially gotten through, charging my card, yet never showing on my TM account, never letting me print those "extra" tickets.

The ticket manager called me .. I explained how disgusted I was with this experience.  Told him to tell Ticketmaster they MUST improve their system .. amazing to pay $2/ticket for 60-70 tickets, only to have that faulty system screw with customers.

I'm sure after my phone call he wrote "crackpot" on my personal file.   :-[
