SF: Matthews 28, Butler 8, Fulce 4.
PF: Hayward 28, Fulce 12.

I think that's pretty close to what we'll see. The main difference is that we'll probably have some more guard oriented lineups. (i.e. Acker, James, McNeal, Matthews, Hayward) We won't always have Burke, Otule, or Hazel on the floor.  I see Hayward getting more than 28 minutes / game, but it will probably be split between 3, 4, and 5 spots.

I see Hayward and Butler both getting more minutes.

If we need Hayward more than 28 minutes, we're in for a long season.

I hope 28 is the top end for the starters--if that number can come down closer to 25 minutes, it's a good sign that our starters can build a lead and our bench can hold it.

Look for more out of Burke if he stays out of foul trouble.

Guards make the world go round.....this is a top ten team guys.

PG: James 35, Acker 5.
2G: McNeal 35, Cubillan 5.
SF: Matthews 32, Butler 5, Fulce 3.
PF: Hayward 35, Fulce 5.
C: Burke 22, Otule 10, Hazel 8.

Realistically, that's what we'll see in the tough games.

No way.

First off, this assumes that any of the Big 4 are not in some type of foul trouble.

Second, I think Fulce will play a big role off the bench. It wouldn't surprise me to see him play between 15-20 minutes a night.

Lastly, this could work for maybe one or two games, but you can't play a lot games with these guys logging 35+ minutes ... your team would be dead by the end of February. And let's face it, the majority of the Big East games I would consider to be tough contests.

A quick glance at Ken Pom's website shows that James, McNeal, and Matthews played 75.2, 74.9, and 71.6% of the available minutes last year.  Translated to minutes, that's roughly 30, 30, and 28.6 minutes per 40 minute contest.  I can't imagine too much deviation from that total this year.

I think he was talking about the tough games that are close (UW, Tenn, Pitt..etc) not an average for the sesason.  I wouldn't imaging anybody playing more than an average of 30-32 minutes a game for the year, similar to last year.

IMO their are a ton of tough games on the schedule.

Wis, Tenn, Pitt, ND, GT (2), Providence, WV, UConn, Nova (2), Louisville, Syracuse.  That's a total of 13. There no way you can have James, McNeal, Matthews and Hayward average over 32 minutes a game for each of these contests. Too many games.

Nobody should be playing over 32 minutes for any game. The only time that should occur is if a guy is on fire or the rotation is short due to injuries or foul trouble.

MU needs support from the bench, especially in tough matchups. Not giving those guys minutes is a mistake.

To more accurately reflect the minutes used in tough games last year:
PG: James 34, Acker 6.
2G: McNeal 34, Cubillan 6.
SF: Matthews 30, Butler 6, Fulce 4.
PF: Hayward 31, Fulce 9.
C: Burke 22, Otule 10, Hazel 8.
