Alright, way off topic, but I have recently become a teacher, and I was just wondering if anyone knows where I could buy a Marquette themed tie. I am looking for a professional looking tie, one with possibly the colors and the MU located somewhere on the tie. I already own a white/gold/powder blue/navy blue (its about as close to a Marquette tie without saying Marquette), but looking for one that would be official.
Any help would be appreciated... I need something to wear on days of games.

If you're in the mood to spend a little more scratch (for a tie that may look better), Jos. A. Bank has college colored ties

thank you... I think if I would go with the collegiate collection, I would have to go with orange and blue for my actual school UW-Platteville... but, the ones at the Marquette shop have a possibility of infiltrating my tie line-up.

Hey Teach,
Just joined the ranks, then scratch is scarce, right? Brooks Brothers, Joseph Banks, MU Store all budget busters. Try TJMaxx (or even thrift stores if you're lucky). It might take a couple of visits, but who knows? If you want, I can look around up here in Packerland and send you something if I run across a "steal."
Happy career, sir. Kids are kids and in need of positive role models (especially in these days of dysfunctional families), and respond wonderfully to honesty, integrity, and friendliness. (Just like the rest of us, no?)

I got mine at Brooks Brothers.
I would recommend emailing the departed (deutsche-bank@IU.edu) and ask for a donation of one of his old ones. I'd be surprised, though, if soup stains weren't on it.

$75 for a freakin tie????? I hope you got a free bowl of soup. But it looks good on you!
check out tj maxx, or nordstroms rack.
I was digging Dwight Buycks tie from his press conference announcing his commitment. It was a gold and dark blue. Dude was set up SHARP, the kid can dress. Don't know where he got the tie, though.http://www.sportsbubbler.com/DisplayTopic.aspx?topicID=1959 (http://www.sportsbubbler.com/DisplayTopic.aspx?topicID=1959)
thanks to all who have posted.
And yes, funds are real hard to come by, although moving back in with the parents for a year helps... a lot.
As far as a basic stripe tie, I have the one for Marquette gamedays, as I picked it up at JCPenny at Southridge for 20 bucks, and its about as Marquette as a tie can get, minus the emblem.
Although one can never have too many ties.
Oh and wildbill, don't worry about searching for me, and I have only begun student teaching (6 weeks in), however I love it, don't think I could do anything else with my life. I didn't think I ever could become a middle school teacher (always wanted to do high school), however these 6 weeks has me so close to hooked on middle school, it is pretty scary (it could also be the outstanding kids I work with right now)
To revive this, JoS. A Bank is having a 50% off everything sale today, so you can get the Blue/Gold tie for $29.75.
