I was just talking with my brother-in-law, MU Alum, who said he had it from a very reliable source (from son of another MU Alum in MU Journalism school) that Trevor Mbakwe was back in classes and re-enrolled at MU. I know this is about 5th hand but I was sure I could find out the truth here. So, what's the story???

I find this extremely hard to believe...
I think the news would be out and loud if it were true. I wish though. It would make a big difference.
I will definitely be on the lookout on campus tomorrow!
I just looked in the student directory in checkmarq and it said there is a Trevor Mbawke enrolled. It also says it is updated every 24 hours, although I never checked after he left so I do not know if he was ever removed from the system.
If I were Buzz I would make sure he is committed to the team before I allowed him back. I personally think Buzz should not take him back.
I would be very surprised if he was
If true this is a continuation of his HS days. If I'm Buzz, I leave it up to the team to be judge and jury here.
I think its safe to say that if, and I do mean if, he is enrolled the decision of him rejoining the team has already been made.
If murf paid me all of those compliments, I would come back too. Murf hasnt been so sure of talent, since he saw Keaton Nankivil.
I can't believe we are toying with our own emotions with the thought. I can't believe a guy would flip flop like that. Who is this guy?
How do you say drama queen in Polish?
I thought someone would say I was crazy and put this to rest right away, now I'm starting to think this might be a possibility. Someone please find out for sure!!!
I don't know what to make of this....I would be amazed but also agree that, if true, he didn't come back without the knowledge that he'd be welcomed with open arms to the team. Clearly, this kid is getting a lot of strange information/advice. Wow.
I wont believe it until craftyvet confirms
HA! I am not a drama queen, I just hating thinking about possibility that something might happen when it probably won't.
to add some fuel to the fire, I was walking behind someone today on campus that I believed to be chris otule. However given these recent developments it may have been mbakwe
HA.. This has got to be an April Fools trick. There is no way this would not get more press around the MU circles. If I saw him in a class, I can't imagine not mentioning it to everyone at dinner in the Halls.
I was at UCLA yesterday and I think I saw Mbakwe
He was dead to me when he left although obviously I wished him well in future endeavors. Anyone with a history like his of jumping schools and indecision has "red flag" written all over him. If back, he could easily leave again in a few months or next year. While he left us thinner talentwise upfront, let Otule get the extra minutes and experience so he hopefully will be able to contribute more in 09.
Reminds me of this dialogue:
Economics Teacher: Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
Simone: Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
Economics Teacher: Thank you, Simone
Simone: No problem whatsoever
I will put a call into Andy Katz and see if this is true. Katz has always been right on the money with MU news. ;D
This is absolutely ridiculous. He's not back.
Maybe Miami-Dade CC or wherever he was, denied him?!?
I went on Miami-Dade's site. Mbakwe is on their 2008-09 basketball roster, but you cannot get a hit on his name on the student directory, but that isn't uncommon with athletes at some places. I would be surprised if this rumor is true.
Thought I saw him on the Providence campus yesterday. Right.
I saw Trevor on I-88 this morning. He was operating a backhoe.
I see Trevor Mbakwe. Walking around like a regular person. He doesn't see others. He only sees what he wants to see. He doesn't know he's Trebor Mbakwe.
Trevor was absolutely, for sure in my Phil class yesterday. He was sitting in the back, right next to Elvis. ;)
I just did a google search for trevor.. google of course responded back saying "you don't find trevor, trevor finds you". silly me..
Trevor is simultaneously enrolled at Miami-Dade, Marquette, Stanford and Princeton. He is earning degrees in Culinary Arts, Broadcasting, Mechanical Engineering, and History.
He will graduate this December.
Last I heard, Trevor was holding his piece of the Agro-Crag above his head from his GUTS victory.
Here we go again....good stuff.
Trevor has been busy being the supreme champion of Legends of the Hidden Temple. He has the quickest Temple run time as he simply put Olmec into a sleeper hold until Olmec was forced to give him the Lost Portrait of Henry VII which was hidden in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.
While at the Notre Dame game this past weekend, I saw Trevor on the Stanford sideline next to Crean.
(The Crean being there part is true)
Trevor is up here in the Pacific Northwest. Mt St Helen's is smoldering - he will prevent an eruption.
Trevor has been spotten simultaneously in the Himalayas and in the Loch Ness.
It only took 4 weeks for him to graduate from Miami-Dade.
I heard from a reliable source that he is taking a semester off to journey to the center of the earth
I saw Mbakwe on the Internets. He was trying to bring back the old Facebook.
Mbakwe stole Tom Crean's tanning booth
Mbakwe filled in for Ken Shamrock.
Everyone here is way off...
He's in Burbank bringing Family Double Dare back to life.
Mbakwe walked on the moon before Neil Armstrong and is currently on Mars.
Trevor is hosting the Saturday Night Live political specials while working feverishly on how to allocate the $700 million Wall Street bailout.

ecompt is right, Mbakwe is so epic that he can save the economy with only $700 million, not $700 billion

Trevor made me fix this
Dudes, I don't think that a guy who bailed on his team the day before school starts deserves another Chuck Norris inspired thread.
he's not back in Humphrey with the rest of the players, that I can confirm.

maybe not, but rumor has it that mbakwe was spotted with your 2nd wife, and that certainly does
and when asked who it was mrs andrews simply replied, "its mbakwe, its mbakwe!"
I woould have to think, as others have said, that here we are in October - if Mbakwe was in class, it would be all over the place - so I doubt that it is true, and if it was, could he even play?
Time to move on!

You're right.
The fact that this thread on Trevor continued for a THIRD PAGE directly affected the confidence in the stock market thus making it plummet 500 points.
Maybe there is another student with the name Trevor Mbakwe that attends Marquette, and if so, see if he plays basketball.
Also, the real Trevor Mbakwe was seen swimming polar bears to safety from the melting ice caps, hes going green.
