The ladder  :'(

To be fair, the author was talking about Polk’s ascent.

https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/evans-seven-madness-is-the-word-as-schools-host-important-visits

Quote
This could be the breakthrough year for Steve Wojciechowski as the head coach at Marquette, and the Golden Eagles enter the season with a roster that can vie for the Big East title and will be aided by their new confines, Fiserv Forum. Looking the part of one of the best basketball facilities nationally, it will be put to good use this weekend as Marquette Madness will bring some of the best from the classes of 2020 and 2021 to campus.

Taking an official visit will be Zeb Jackson, a four-star junior guard who is already down to a final seven. Ohio State, Michigan and Butler look to be the stiffest competition for the talented guard, but getting Jackson on campus for his first official visit is a statement in itself.

More highly regarded prospects will be joining the Ohio native, as five-star junior Jalen Johnson and his brother, Kobe Johnson, will be in attendance, as will Rivals150 juniors Dawson Garcia and Jamari Sibley. DJ Hughes and Carter Gilmore are two others that will be getting a chance to see what Marquette can offer as the potential for future success can only be increased by a solid few days on the Big East campus this weekend.

LOL I misread your post and it gave me an idea.

I am surprised that no one (at least no one I have heard of) has given their son the first name of Fivestar and always use his middle name as well.

Think about it:  Every time anyone refers to him (say, in a basketball article), they will call him Fivestar Michael Jones.
Have some patience, FFS.

Using this philosophy,  my son would've been named Intramural.

Mine would have been named Fivestar ... but by the time he got to his junior year in college, I would have had to change his name to Unranked.

https://stockrisers.com/2018/10/08/zeb-jackson-books-three-official-visits-recaps-marquette-official-more/

Really sparse article on Zeb Jackson. Has scheduled OVs to Butler, Arizona State, and Michigan State. Has taken multiple unofficials to Michigan and Ohio State. Only finalist not mentioned is Purdue.

Here's the bit about Marquette:

Quote
This weekend Jackson took his first official visit to Marquette, here’s what he said on that visit: “My first official visit to Marquette went really well and I enjoyed my time there hanging out with the coaches and players and seeing Milwaukee and Marquette for my first time.”

Marquette in Jalen Johnson's final 15

I get Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, Arizona, even Ohio State and Florida. All pretty big-time programs. Marquette, Wisconsin and Minnesota are close to home. Makes sense. But the rest are puzzling.

Georgetown and DePaul? Missouri and Kansas State? LSU?

Exactly how do you consider Wisconsin and Minnesota as close to home for a Milwaukee kid but not Depaul? Georgetown's selling point with location is likely saying you've got two games that are close to home for your family and friends to see you every year in MU and Depaul. idk about Mizzou KState and LSU

I see your point about DePaul being local. But c'mon -- DePaul?

DePaul offered his entire AAU team.  There will be some buddies of him that give DePaul serious consideration.  I'm sure he's just keeping them in his list because he likes his teammates.
