MU -1.5 at The Hall
« on: January 20, 2023, 10:39:04 PM »
It’s -110 on FD and a couple other spots. I don’t expect that price or line to be better in the morning.

Meaning you think the line will shift towards Marquette as a bigger favorite by tip-off?

Yes, either the line or price on MU I would expect to be up by mid morning Saturday.

Buyer of MU at -1.5 all day long. The last three games I would have passed on, today would be big play game, imo.

Overs make sense. I would not take MU to win though. Road games are a war. Hope we win!!

Aside from being the better team, I like they are going into a week off. Great of motivation for the win and not having a bad vibe for a week. Think that works in our favor today.

To get better value here, I’ll probably SGP Oso to score 10 or more with the MU ml. On FD, that’ll get you +145. If MU is going to win, I think it’s going to be through him.

Do they have ndefo rebounds ? Opponents rebound props have been money against MU

I think others have said this, but if MU wins today I think 15-5 and a Big East title is a likely outcome.

Funny you say that because I wanted to see Ndefo lines to play either a combo or rebounds, but no place has props for him that I can find.

At first read, I thought ndefo was some new advanced metrics for rebounding.  🤣

I see this as a good test of MU’s maturity and focus.

It’s their fourth game in 11 days with the first three against strong, rated opponents. Last year, after a couple of tough games against Villanova and UConn they went into Butler flat, got blitzed early, and never recovered.

So far  this season MU hasn’t had any real clunkers, and this is kind of a set up for one against a team that MU handled pretty easily the first time, but has now won four in a row.

I really do think the upcoming week off plays big today. Get the win and it is a nice break. Of the last four, this is the one most confident going into. Thought they would win against, PC but not crazy high confidence. This is a statement game to put last year to rest. I agree that the Butler game enhanced the slide and think that is not forgotten by Shaka and the team.

Totally agree.

Second place in BE; top 25 ranking; very impressive NET and Kenpom--------all of that's fantastic and that's why we play the games. But it does increase the size of the target on our backs when we hit the road.

Today I think we will find out if Marquette is a real contender for the Big East or just a name that people throw around as a possible contender.

Seton Hall isn't close to their best opponent, and they aren't even Top 5, but they just had new life breathed into them with a win over UConn.  If the Big East has a shot to get 6 teams in, Seton Hall is the only shot.  This should be one heck of a game.

Marquette is a "real contender" for the Big East title regardless of the outcome today. At worst they will be a game and a half out of the lead, with ten games to go, including a home game against Xavier.

Yep - I don’t enjoy doing it, but sometimes the best way to make money is knowing your teams weaknesses as betting against them. Rebounding props have been money against Mu the past two seasons.

FD has Samuel boards over 6.5 at +105 (which is semi-intriguing).

I’d take his combo, but he’s not getting 7 boards.
