Jay Wright is daring us to make a simple pass to a wide open post player.

Nova has great guard play. Simply can't compete.

Cue the "we wouldn't be here if he didn't have 14 assists last night" crowd.

We were certain he would regress back to his mean today.

I don't mind if we go out against a top 5 team, but just not like this. C'mon man!

I haven't seen Fischer touch the ball much, May need to get the ball into the post to see if Nova will bring the double team. Maybe it will open up a shooter.

Pretty much

Archie, Ennis, Hillard, Hart......... (way to deep)

All of those guys will be paid to play basketball one day either in America or Overseas......

Hilliard possibly NBA. Their Guard play is legit.

We were certain he would regress back to his mean today.

a lot of his assists were simple passes to open 3 point shooters. derrick isn't a creator, but usually he takes care of the ball. tonight he hasn't and when that happens he is a major detriment to his team. honestly the pg play at marquette has no where to go but up next year. when derrick is the best you got at that position, you know you've hit rock bottom

Yes, this is painful, but did anyone expect anything else? We're playing the #4 team in the country on 15 hours rest. Last night was great. That was our One Shining Moment. As fun as another win would be, this team would beat us 9/10 if we were rested. This was always a massive uphill pipe dream.

Yes, but sort of expected. The 12 TOs just brutal. No one beats Nova when they hit 10 threes in a half.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

C'mon, is any of this a shock? MU is playing with house money. Few picked them to win last night. You have a tired team with practically no bench playing a rested, elite team that's looking at a #1 seed in the tourney.

The season ends today. Which is fine, because we can start thinking about next year.

Spoken like a true Cubs fan. Is that correct?

But I agree. A fan has gotta be a fan tho.

Just turned it on and MU snapped a 17-0 run.  You're welcome.

ahem, perhaps you could have found the remote a tad earlier?!? That would have been helpful.  ;)

Nova is focused.   Their guards are far better than our guards.   Derrick sees a pass, starts to make the pass, and Nova already has the passing lane closed.  Too slow.   Heavy legs.    Nova is on a mission.

Jay Wright: "they were playing zone and giving us the threes".  Yup.........hello......

Derrick/Carlino = 6 turnovers
Carlino = zero points
Fisher has taken two shots
Passes into the post are brutal, Traci Carter you watching........

Least the fellas got a BE Tourney win last night, but just not in same league as Nova today.

Something bothers me when trolls come out.  You losers need lives.  I'm continuing to support our guys and hope they have the energy for a solid 2nd half.  My hope is that Wojo isn't hollering in the locker room but is instead inspiring the guys to play 20 minutes with pride.

Beating a lousy Seton Hall team was a shining moment?

My God, how far MU's program has fallen.

Can't do much about the threes. Ouch.
Sure you can! You lose the zone and play tight man. Why are we playing zone against a team that rains threes? You reap what you sow. Wojo is a great recruiter, but has a ton, a ton, to learn as a coach. Especially adjustments. Last night we had a 25 point lead with 5 minutes left, and Derrick and Carlino played every minute. Wojo did not sub them until about a minute left. A noon game today and both Derrick and Carlino are beat. Carlino 0-5 and Derrick with 5 TO's at the half. Villanova is a very good team, but Wojo has much to learn about game coaching.
