'What if' for the stat lovers

If, and I recognize the size of the if, Marquette beats Villanova tonight, that will be 3 wins over top 10 teams in the same calendar month.   Actually within 3 weeks, but who's counting?   I have no idea the answer, but has MU ever done that?   And, outside of the NCAA tournament, how many teams anywhere have done it?
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Click "Schedule".
Click small arrow under opponent rank and filter so it only shows 1 through 10.
Click small arrow under result and filter so it only shows wins.
Look and see Marquette has never done that before.

Closest was three top ten wins between January 22, 1974 and March 23, 1974.

Gonna be close but not expecting a W. A lot of games this year have gone contrary to expectations. should be a good one!
If anything this is another "FUN!" Marquette team. If it ever comes together consistently, college basketball better watch out.

If MU can pull it out tonight, I’d say that will at least tie them for best wins (quality and quantity) in the country. Would have to double check but I think Gonzaga and Kansas also have 3 very good wins.

Depending on your definition, the closest may have been between March 6-28 of 1977. They earned two wins in that span and had a one-point loss to Michigan.

Didn't consider looking at it from that angle. Good point.
