I think I will spend the next week in self reflection in attempt to determine what I could possibly have done to deserve the last 8 days of my life.

It's days like this that make me glad I am steadily losing interest in college sports, and in fact accelerates the process.

Read this. Will make you feel better. After the twitter nightmare earlier this week...here's a positive example of the power of twitter, and a great story about LBJ. I know some folks don't like him. I just don't have any idea why...

If Larry Williams was still AD, this would not have happened.

You put this in teal but the funny thing is that if Larry were still here and Buzz left MU for VaTech, we'd be hating on Larry right now. We'd be assuming he forced out Buzz, who would be a bit of a martyr. And some of us might even forgive Buzz a little for his horsepoop coaching job last season, figuring the pressure of working under Larry had been a distraction.

So I guess what I'm saying is that Larry leaving was bad for Buzz, from a P.R. standpoint anyway!

Badgers hitting home runs, kicking ass--meanwhile we puny warriors are now relegated to 2nd tier coaches and smoking the roaches, while Bo is King of College basketball. Wonder what recruits will start sliding toward Madison.

C'mon MU, get your ass in gear.

Please tell me none of you complaining is a packer fan. This is a tiny fraction if the what makes Wisconsin sports insufferable.  I distinctly remember an old lady who owned a packers car leading off news coverage. Not sports coverage.... News coverage.

Fortunately, I live in the flatlands, where a Badger refers to just another type of roadkill eaten for dinner by our precious downstate residents.

We occasionally hear about the red barf, but it comes and goes like a bad bratwurst.

Now on to really important things. Our coach will be our coach. I'd like to think we can do better that Quarto (Cuonzo?) Martin. At least lets go for Half Gallon O Martin. As an ex-Tennessean, I'm really disturbed that the University of Tennessee's potential hand-me-downs would end up in Milwaukee. We're better than that. We really are.

I'm sure Quarto is a great guy. But, let's face it. Mercer did his work for him. He's a downgrade from the Buzzard. Even Curley will be yucking it up if we did this one.

Badgers own the state. Think about it. When MU went to the Final Four in '03, alums and students were excited...the rest of the state shrugged. Now, I bet the entire state is losing its mind...from top to bottom. Kohls and Walmart can't pump out Bucky t-shirts fast enough. It will always be this way. The advantages of being State U. Just glad I'm not there...can't imagine how many bandwagon jumpers are around.

All of this hoopla can't help but influence recruits.

You don't think it is the same way in North Carolina between Duke and the Tar Heels?  Duke is hated in North Carolina ... it's a bunch of rich Jewish kids from New Jeresy.

* The same in Illinois between Northwestern and Illinois?

* The same in Kentucky between Louisville and Kentucky?

* The same in Southern CA between UCLA and USC.

* The same in the bay area between Stanford and Berkley?

* The same in Washington between Gonzaga and the Huskies?

* The same in Ohio between X and Ohio State?

* The same in Indiana between Notre Dame and Indiana?

* The same in Nebraska between Creighton and the Big Red?

* The same in Iowa between Drake and the Hawkeyes?

Yeah, no one else has it like MU.

Totally the opposite. The line "The advantages of being State U." is about as generic as it gets. It's nice to be the big university that the state identifies with.

That said, Scoop does seem to be filled with a bunch of "woe is me" types lately. Don't blame you for thinking this is another one.

Exactly, they beat us by 6 at the Kohl Hole without Mayo.  And people wonder why we don't like UW-Madison fans around here.  They're having an incredible season and I want to be happy for my family and friends that are UW fans, I really do, but jag-offs like this make it tough.
