If the rumors are true that he wanted Cuonzo as the hire.....

...then with Broeker as AD we get another shot at the prize in five years when Wojo goes home.

The people I've rooted for to be hired into my org haven't always been the best interviews with regards to organizational fit. I'd hope that, as a professional, he'd get over it.
Cuonzo wasn't the worst choice from our pool of candidates.

I would hope MU could do better....much better that Martin

Let's see him schedule less than five 300+ RPI teams this year, or at least not again blame bad luck and the Gregorian calendar presenting limited dates if he should. Then perhaps we'll talk.

A hair above Wardle.

The way the candidate pool works in college bball is completely foreign to me. I do not understand why we didn't have better candidates (unless having Shaka on campus and turning us down after the family chimed in took the wins from our sails).
It seemed like our AD was less prepared for the coach search than I was. I mean, Buzz had wanted out for quite a while now. With our success, budget, and the amount of warning we had I would think we could put together a strong candidate pool.
Maybe the AD is better at keeping stuff under wraps than we give then credit for.

That would be terrible for Marquette.

Why keep Broeker around for this long, then?
I was joking about Wainwright, but I like him as a DBO.

I am not convinced he has the heft and gravitas for a senior leadership role. Solid middle layer guy and very focused on hoops. AD needs to spread his love around both internally and externally, the latter being an area Broeker struggles.
As for Jerry, I hope MU keeps him around though he shouldn't be in men's basketball. Let the new guy have his own team. Jerry would be the strange uncle at Thanksgiving dinner.

Broeker is far from basketball only. Far, far, far from it.

I always loved my strange uncle, and he loved me.

What do you want MU to do, fire him?

I didn't say that. There is a difference between only and focused. Broeker's biggest issue is external relations.
