Tony Benford is a beast on the recruiting trail. I don't know what his contract is, but I'd have to think that there could be a potential head coaching job out there for him in the future. Hopefully we can hang onto him for as long as possible though.

I hope ners doesn't hurt himself while reading it.

Not gonna lie, that article was filled with the same rants as most of the threads on this board.  :P

Benford did just get the boost to associate head coach over the summer.

the author certainly makes a case for what most have been saying: the foundation for a long term step forward certainly does seem to be in place.

can't wait to see how much improvement happened over the summer.

i'm nerdy enough to be interested in who leads the team in the boot camp strength, agility and hops tests.

But nope - I didn't write it - but obviously reading it was a pretty awesome way to start today.  It seems Merangh has been reading Scoop - as he pretty well crystallized most of the discussion/feelings here.  Let's hope he's spot on with his analysis.  An exciting time to be an MU fan (now let's just hope the whole conference realignment thing doesn't blow up in our face.)

Wait - hiring Steve Cottingham in 2007 and his subsequent hiring of Buzz in 2008 saved Marquette and are responsible for MU becoming a real national player again? Chicos (and others) insisted that those two events were the death knell for the Warriors. Go figure.

Big time homer article. Wish there was more analyses and less fawning over the program.

No, he is based out east.    Pitt alum, raised in Michigan.  But he has always shown an affection for MU, particularly under Buzz.

It was a little homer-fied but Mernagh has been a friend of the MU program since Buzz took over.

The one issue I had reading it was the numerous mentions that Jamil Wilson could be a great player, if he puts the work in. Whispers around Wilson for the last couple of years have always seemed to return to this topic. You wonder if the year off allowed for reflection of that.

Lanche - Waiting for your reaction to the Burton commitment.  No snide remarks about striking out?  Getting the top kid out of Chicago for 2012, and now a consensus 2012 Top 50 kid out of MKE - still have issues with Buzz's recruiting, and us never landing any of our targets?
