JLew Leadership
« on: January 15, 2022, 05:58:37 PM »
With 16 minutes left in the 2nd half GE drove to the hoop, put up a wild shot, and laid on the ground for a few seconds.
Next dead ball, JLew ran up to GE and told him to get his ass back on D.
GE recognized his mistake and thanked JLew.
Great to see.

A lot of "playing for each other." Love it.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

And then JLew laid on the ground while the game was on the line and SH got the rebound from his miss and headed up court. Leadership, right?

Teal needed?

He got knocked down and no foul called. It was a travesty. It was liked getting mugged in an alley behind a bar by two guys with baseball bats"  No call? And he landed on his hip and maybe hit his head. And you expect him to be more of a leader? Go sit down, and get your head on straight.

My bad. I thought I was being witty.

That said, I'm a soccer player, and I immediately thought that JLew was over-acting his injury to get a call. It was a foul; no doubt. The fact that he came right back in sort of reaffirms my inclination. And I could be wrong about him acting. I really hope he's ok.

No I think you nailed it. I came home and watched the game. Dickey said he needs to ice it………within seconds of that comment Shaka looks at JLew and says “you ready?”

Opposite opinion.

While I know he is a leader.

He needs to stop taking "forced shots" and run the offense.

He is shooting like 30% from outside 10 feet with a lot of contested difficult shots.

There are much better shots available if he/they run the offense.

Actually, We, Dickey said he needs to ice it AND that it was good that he was stretching it out. Pardon me, Dickey, but a bone bruise doesn't benefit from stretching.

I was glad to see Justing back in the game, even if he didn't get back into that play.

He came back on the court, and of course we all were relieved to see it. He's a tough kid. He understands what is at stake and he doesn't play soft. Sure, within the game he might take a few too many 3s. He's learning. And no, Muggs, I know you weren't saying he didn't look like a leader laying on the floor. You gotta get off the ground when you get knocked down.

Just to be clear, I'm not Muggsy, who you might be thinking of. He hasn't contributed to this thread. I'm mug644 (referring to the Mugrack in the old Union, not to Mr. Bogues).

I think if he was faking it, he would not have lain on the floor for so long.  He knew that the team was short-handed on the other end.  Once it was apparent he wasn't getting a call, he would have gotten up and back into the game.
