Never going to happen at Marquette for multiple reasons, but the biggest being no space around the BC to tent and who is going to tent in Janaury in Milwaukee?

Plus, I don't think we want it. K-ville is Duke's thing. While its pretty cool, its their tradition. I don't want Marquette stealing others' traditions.

To start, let's just focus on getting the students to fill the student section for every game and be loud throughout. After that, then we can talk new traditions.

I was there in the middle of winter.
It was unbelievable to see the dedication and excitement.
Having an on campus arena that seats half of the Bradley Center or 2.5 times the size of the Al really helps too.
It is embedded in the University.

On the point of camping out in Milwaukee winters I agree.  I mean I've camped out for a couple games but in my five years the only two teams I've seen anybody get excited enough to camp out for is UW and ND
Maigh Eo for Sam

I do and was one of the first tents in line. We were there almost a week. Someone always had to be at the tent.  We ended up in the first row on the floor behind the basket. Great times. That may have been the last year it was done that way.

Sounds awesome! Was this for the season after the championship?

Apparently that does not apply to dumb chants to start a game stolen from a low-major program.

10 per tent, and 5 had to be there at any given time. I was our scheduler.

We were there for a week. I recall there was a ten person per tent limit with the rule being half the people had to be present at all times. There was a 10 minute recovery grace so we had a chart with everyone's class locator so if the proctors came round we could get our crew assembled. This was before cell phones so that meant a couple guys sprinting to the nearest buildings and literally pulling people out of class.

There was some drinkin', smokin', and fornicatin' goin' on on that grassy patch. I heard Jim Scott was appalled and outlawed it from existence. That guy was a bigger dick than Dean Wormer.

That week was a great memory. By the end of the week our tent was rank.

As to any tents set up nowadays my naming suggestion is "Wojo's Dojos"
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Doc Scott was one of a kind. Wish I had been at MU five years earlier and as able to enjoy the the festivities.

One of the things I gathered here is that Tent City was only held that one year. I was under the impression it had been going on for a few years before I showed up. Glad I got to ride the only flight.

Outstanding! Our tent was near the top to the right of the tree in middle. We were the second row in. Look for the pile of empty PBR cans...

Sat right next to Dean Scott and his wife for several seasons at the Bradley Center. As an administrator, he was a huge Warrior fan.

I will confess to having been in one of those tents though the details of the week are a little fuzzy for what are probably obvious reasons.  I swear that wasn't the first year there was camping but I could easily be wrong.  I can't remember if the camping was in conjunction with a lottery or a the lottery start the next year?

As I recall, once you pitched a tent you were given a number which was the order in which you were assigned/allowed to select seats. I believe the selection event was held on a Saturday so the tents popped up the weekend before. The Saturday was pretty much an after thought to the debauchery of the night before. My wife showed up the next year which is fortunate on many levels.

Pere Marquette Park or the open land north of the BC if they don't build the new arena.  Already folks camped out there.
