They are in overtime tied with 3 minutes left to play!
-
This game makes me feel glad I'm under-the-weather today. Otherwise I'd have to be outside raking.
Go Villanova!

Funny, same here.
-
Amazing block to likely seal the game.
-
Watching this game is doing nothing to sway me from my belief that as long as MU, Nova, & GTown stick together, we're all going to be just fine.
-
Nova ices it. Love it.
Now for Butler to beat I4...

Glad I got my heavily shrouded and large New England yard done the week before Thanksgiving. It's allowed me to enjoy the holiday season.
On another note, glad to hear Nova won.

Watching Indiana play is like watching a team without a coach. Indiana looks very disorganized and chaotic that is getting by solely on athleticism and talent. Also getting the benefit of the doubt on a lot of foul calls.
-
Fun game to watch, glad Nova came away with the win.
Anybody watch the Arizona - UTEP game last night? Also fun at times, but super sloppy. Guys driving and just throwing up prayers. Made some of Duane's careless drives look like nothing.

Kentucky up on UCLA 28-2
-
Ouch, Kentucky now up 41-7 at halftime. Guessing that is a low scoring record???
Looney with 5 of the 7 points for UCLA.

Is that a typo?
-
Burton to ISU lol
-
Is that a typo?
41 to 7 at the half ... on 3 for 37 shooting.
UK started the game by going up 24 to 0
Lowest first half total in the history of UCLA.
Maybe Burton to UCLA is not farfetched. He can start alongside Looney for them!

I could make more than 3 for 37 shooting from half court.

Looney needs a new dentist/handler, I'm really a badger fan?

Just back from the game- I've never seen anything quite like it at this level. A good but not great UCLA dominated completely. And it wasn't just that were shooting poorly (though they were, especially Alford in the first half). It was that so many of the shots were contested. And forget about driving--everything is contested by at least 2 leapers. Plus Kentucky goes full court pressure the whole way (shuffling bodies in and out to keep fresh). Offensively, Kentucky was getting easy buckets in transition as a result of defense or wide open perimeter looks.
As I said on another thread, it was hard to judge Looney, because there was zero flow to the game for UCLA. He was their best player today, but...I don't know what that means.

I have watched Kentucky only twice this year but in those two games they look like the best defensive team I have ever seen. I can't fathom that Louisville is only 0.5 points per 100 possessions away from Kentucky in defense (#1 Cats give up 83 points per 100 while #2 Cards give up 83.5). Kentucky seems so much better defensively.

One other thing...Kentucky really travels well. It was like a home game. Granted, easier for them then UCLA for sure, but there were close to zero UCLA fans, maybe a thousand Tar Heel fans and a few thousand Ohio State fans. 10,000 plus Kentucky fans. (And the balance unaffiliated)

Derrick would be their go to guy!

With their "NBA" team playing college ball I would expect that kind of following. This year it looks like Kentucky and then everyone else. I would be shocked if they got upset in the tournament.

I didn't watch any of the UK-UCLA game, but looking at the box score I can't help but think of this game:
http://espn.go.com/ncb/boxscore?gameId=310840153
The final score gives MU way too much credit. I remember being excited when the score was 18-12 mid first half, then talent took over. That game put things in perspective for me as far as traveling and spending $ to go sporting events.
-
I was trying to think of bad MU beats too, and that one comes to mind (and, of course, many in-game scoring droughts, etc.). But nothing like 24-0. 41-7. Nothing.

Except that we made a little run in the middle of the 2nd half of this game to cut it down to about 13 with some momentum after a Jay Crowder 3...and then he had to chirp and got a T that took all the momentum away from us. That was frustrating.

Kentucky this year could be the first team since the 1975-1976 Indiana Hooisers to go undefeated through the entire season and
NBA, oops, NCAA tournament. They're that good.
This may be one of the best teams ever. And I hate them with a passion, but they're really good.
Kinda like we'll be in a couple of years!
-
This Kentucky team is easily the class of college basketball. They will dominate this year. Duke and Wisconsin (because they are capable of hitting a bunch of 3's from all 5 positions and not dependent on driving into Kentucky's shot blockers) are the only teams I see as having a chance to steal a game from the Wildcats.
But no way are they one of the best teams ever. College basketball is very watered down. Think of how one of the Alcindor lead UCLA teams or even the Worthy-Jordan-Perkins UNC team would fare...UNLV or Duke of the early 90's...the '96 Kentucky team...even the recent Florida squads led by Noah-Horford-Brewer. This Kentucky team would struggle to beat the best of the best.
They have great depth, a bevy of McD's AA, and will be a heavy favorite to win the whole thing. But while they have a good number of future NBA players, not one of them is a transcendent star. They don't have a Jordan, Durant, Anthony Davis or even a John Wall or Demarcus Cousins among them. They're a deep collection of talent benefitting from a mediocre era of college basketball, not an all time great.

Numbers, very well. But it takes their fans three days to get to Chicago.

Good point. Somebody on the team bus must leave a trail of crumbs for everyone else to follow.
