when? I'm talking end of game (last couple possessions). Down the stretch could be anything under 4 minutes (or however you would define it). Then yea sure he has made some big plays, so have a lot of guys on the team

Are OT points clutch?  I could go on, but let’s just start there....

That's the difference between Wright and Wojo.

Yup. Wright's been around the block and knows how to think a few plays ahead. Wojo still has work to do in this department. Just another frustration of watching an assistant coach try to figure out how to become a head coach.

Yeah, you would think people wouldn’t run to a message board following a loss to trash a National Player of the Year candidate and Marquette legend. It’s just a game.

Played poorly in the beginning of both halves and lost by one.   Gave this game away.  Feels like the Providence and Butler games. Should/could have won all three.  Villanova is not a better team.  Two more wide open shots going in out of 20 wide open misses and a couple more free throws this game is ours.

Had to come out swinging and we came out whiffing.  Damn, this team is so close to being really good.

uhh….no. Really? Making a basket in OT is the sign of a clutch player??? I guess we have very different definitions of clutch then.

Vander Blue made numerous game winning plays during the last 1 or 2 possessions. That is what a I consider clutch.

So last four minutes is clutch, per you.....but a five minute OT period isn’t clutch?   What planet do you love on?

On the flip side, in our close victories we hit those few extra shots to get the win.

Goalposts moving

First off there is a difference between hitting a last shot and hitting a bunch of shots down the stretch that seal a win so a last shot isn’t needed....both are clutch.

you have very low reading comprehension. I stated the last couple possessions of the game is what determines a clutch player or not. Also, clutch players usually have postseason success....

Those don’t count...he could have had 15 points and therefore he choked.

Marquette absolutely needed to foul after Markus cut it to three with 40 seconds left.  You need to extend the game there.  Nova had missed two of its last three free throws.  The Eagles played defense, got the stop, and Wright had his team foul.  Marquette simply ran out of time.  The opening minutes of the second half were the difference.  I’m incredibly proud of this team’s resolve.  The opportunity to win after going down 18 was within reach.

Good post and good analysis. Tough call on the foul/no foul with 40 seconds left down three...but I agree we should have fouled after about 10-15 seconds of trapping/going for steals. Have to extend game in that situation.

Could’ve had 55 tonight too, so he suuuuuuuuuuucks.

Guy’s post history is comical. I stand by my previous comment.
