Marquette vs Ohio State...on a naval ship?

Throw this matchup into the mix and that's a crazy non-conference. Would be played for Veterans Day. Thoughts? Seems like a cool opportunity.

Love the idea and the publicity.  It would be nice to have DJO and Jae.  Either way, this adds to a very tough non-conf schedule.

Source: MU in talks to play on Navy ship Nov. 9

There are lots of pieces that need to come together, but a source says the Marquette men's basketball team may get a chance to play Ohio State University on Nov. 9 aboard a Navy ship, Charleston, S.C.

I wonder what color scheme MU would get for the camo uniforms?  I might lean towards gold to differentiate from UNC last year.

I like the idea of differentiating from UNCs last year, except those uniforms were awesome. I think gold would be the natural choice, since we're the Golden Eagles, but the dark blue with even darker camo patterns could look pretty sharp, too.

So, time to rethink the Buzz Army concept,  Buzz's Leathernecks?  Buzz's Seabees?

Wasn't last season's OOC MU's toughest ever?  This upcoming would blow last's out of the water, so to speak, with natural and manmade island games.

Charleston is a fun town for a long weekend.  I urge anyone who can make the trip to do so.

With the family I took a daytrip there from Myrtle Beach.  It's very hot & humid in August.  They have a nice air conditioned bus tour that stops at the well know locations.  I recall an outdoor market.  I imagine November to be much nice weather.

It'll be the best team central Ohio money can buy!

Yuck. I hope there are no camo uniforms. In fact, MU should make a stand and wear peace-inspired uniforms. No need for more warmongering.

OK..what?  Camo = warmongering?  That's a nice thing to say at the beginning of Memorial Day weekend.

This is awesome publicity if it plays out.  I don't know what the ratings are, but all sports fans I know watched the Carrier Classic last year, and it grabs a ton of headlines too.  Yeah it's a little gimmicky, but I think it's pretty cool.

The OOC schedule will be played up by the media that already loves the gritty and toughness of MU, I can already see them spinning it into that Buzz and MU aren't afraid to play anyone.  I love it.

I think you'd fit in better on the Badger board. Terrible take.

Sullinger and Buford are gone, pretty sure the rest are back. They should be a top-20 team.

Wow.  While the profile of MUBB has been on the rise again for the last few years (2 sweet 16s, string of NBA players, Buzz pub etc.), this truly would be a "welcome to the national stage" game.

Navy blue uniforms - no camo.

And Marquette was the team that was going to be in the game no matter what. It was going to be either Marquette vs. OSU or Marquette vs. Kansas.

We could go with throwbacks and wear the Doc Rivers era jersey with the camo on the sides.
