In theory, recent games do mean more. On the team sheets, rankings of a predictive model are used, and that model includes a recency bias.

You have more knowledge on this than I and would enjoy understanding more if you can shed some light.  When you say team sheets, do you mean these?  https://i.turner.ncaa.com/sites/default/files/images/2017/12/04/team_sheet_guide1.pdf

The rankings of predictive models you mention, are those boxes 4, 5 and 6?  I did not realize those predictive models have added values or a recency bias built in, am I understanding you correctly based on your comments?
