Cheerleading is not a NCAA sponsored sport so the NCAA has no jurisdiction.

Playboy had a whole series dedicated to girls of many different college conferences. MU even had some representation.

If you’re referring to “Girls of Conference USA” circa 1998ish, those photographed were not cheerleaders.

This is interesting but can the teams do morality clauses to stop them from doing playboy or straight up porn? Or at least stop them from doing so while wearing the school's logo?

I know like this sounds like a weird thing to wonder but I really would hate for MU to become like ASU or USC with the amount of scandals from their students who weren't even cheer leaders.

Yes, they can discipline them if it violates “institutional values.” Though with the Playboy thing, since it isn’t classified as porn MU did not discipline the girls who did it. SLU, however, said any girl who appeared without clothing would be expelled. DePaul didn’t care, and my prof friend there had no idea one of his advisees has appeared in that issue until years later.

Arizona State had a cheerleader do porn in her uniform after she dropped out went after her in court.

IIRC, the MU representation was a girl with a butt check exposed.  Pretty tame.

Who was doing the butt check?

Did they also threaten to expel any male student who bought the magazine?

I once worked with the Northwestern gal who posed for Girls of the Big 10.

A former next door neighbor was in the Big 8 one.

no, since they were not representing the institution in purchasing it. However, according to a friend who appeared in the photo with his frat (the girl was clothed after SLU's threats) all members of the frat were put on probation for a semester.  The President was beyond heavy-handed over the whole thing.

Check deep in your files, I think in the early the 70s MU had a playmate of the month.

Her name was Barbara Hillary not to be confused with Barbara Hillary, the first known African-American woman to reach the North Pole.

She was born in 1949 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for the April 1970 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Pompeo Posar. She studied speech and English at Marquette and worked at the Playboy Club in New York City.

She went on to become a registered nurse, and spent several years volunteering in the Philippines, assisting with cataract surgeries for the poor.

Some NSFW photos from that issue can be seen here - http://www.famousboard.com/threads/6245-Barbara-Hillary (http://www.famousboard.com/threads/6245-Barbara-Hillary)
