Ok comrade.  Do you realize how much cash reserves Apple is sitting on?  Though I'm sure you'd rather they be forced to give that up so others can do what they deem is best for that money.

Some buybacks are absurd and detrimental, but making a blanket statement like that sounds like hysterical screaming at the EVIL CORPORATE CLOUDS.  Even your democratic socialist utopias in Scandinavia don't outlaw them.  I specifically read about significant buybacks in Norway and Denmark in Q1.

Yes Apple should pay more for sitting on a pile of cash that’s the size of a GDP of a top 60 economy in the world.

Wouldn’t you say making it more incentivized for companies spend on capital investment and organic growth prospects is healthier for our long term economy than juicing executive comp packages and stock prices temporarily?

Buybacks were considered market manipulation until the 1980s. Wonder why.

How much more cowardly can we be in our scheduling to not get in this event?  Dodging an obvious loss to UWM and what would be our second straight to St Thomas.

The gap between us and UConn continues to grow.
Actually, I think we got aced out of the event because there is already one Big East team in the field. Maybe next year?

Ham to da Bucks?
Maybe, but it is clear the Lakers have solved their issues and should be odds on favorites to win the Championship next year.  ::)

Hangin' at the Al / Re: Crean vs Buzz vs Wojo vs Shaka

I know you have some looney takes, but you can't possibly think that the program was in a worse place when Crean left than it was when he arrived, can you?  You're just trolling at this point, right?

Agreed, that's a ridiculous take, especially because of the situation around it. After Year 1 (so year two) Crean left three starters in Hayward, Cubillan, and Acker. In addition, Joe Fulce and Chris Otule were already committed to Marquette under Crean. So were Nick Williams and Tyshawn Taylor, both of whom went on to have productive high-major careers.

Yes, Crean was able to bring Williams along with while Buzz couldn't keep Taylor, but there was at least some foundation there, and Buzz offset those losses with Buycks and DJO. Had Crean not left, the cupboard wasn't remotely bare, and Buzz had a solid foundation for year two as indicated by 3 starters leftover from Crean and a 6-seed that year.

🙏
That would be right up there with Pau going to the Lakers.

I don't think Silver is going to ramrod that trade.

I second the Odartey Blankston call above. Very good looking player and could have been a key piece when he left.

I agree and also think he could have helped in the Final Four.

Damarius Owens didn’t make the final roster for the Iverson Classic?

I see it’s this weekend and didn’t see anything mentioned.

Not a transfer…..but when Joe Wolf declared for UNC , My Grandpa almost cried. My Uncles were yelling and swearing. They knew that the slope was slipping and weren’t too happy.

When we have the same social services, union support and tax structure as the Scandinavians, I'll likely have a different opinion on stock buybacks
