Of course, one really needed a generous definition of "droves" to justify the doom talk ... and California's population today is larger than it was just a few years ago.
And thank goodness! The taxes paid for and income generated by California corporations and residents helps carry money-sucking states like Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, West Virginia, etc.
I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that even with that 67,000-person increase, more people moved out of California to other states than moved into California from other states.

When I asked how Protestant churches handle it, it was basically a rhetorical question.
My point is that nearly every other major organized religion allows their clergy to marry and have families, so it is definitely doable.
And just because their is a huge, arcane hierarchy to support currently in the Catholic church, it doesn't mean it has to stay that way. I don't recall Jesus commanding his apostles to set it up like that. But it probably won't change.

Look, clearly Jimmy and DJO were way better than Cubillan and Acker. But they certainly were not without value. And Buzz knew that! That's why he played them as much as he did. Great coaching job all around.
