Damn I'm getting old.  I still remember DOS like it was yesterday.

As Windows shut down to update  yet again the other day in the middle of my doing work, I screamed that I would never buy a Microsoft product again as long as I live, all while resisting throwing my laptop against the wall

I have a gal on my team that is on her 3rd Mac Book in the last 2 months.   First two were complete pieces of cow fecal matter.

Eh...I've had the same iPad for 5 years. I'm only lately starting to encounter issues

If that is happening, my guess is that it's the settings or something.  My computers always ask first, or wait until after I give the command to shut down.
Have some patience, FFS.

I've had my MacBook Pro for about 4 years, and it's still going strong.  I'm not a tech geek, and I like that  people who are totally tech naive can figure out how to get them to work.  Not sure what this says about this "gal."

We use both at work.  I'm a huge Apple fan for tablets and phones.  Computers, they make a very good product.  I was merely pointing out that like any product like this, you can have some duds.
