TV for Providence & W. Virginia
« on: January 03, 2008, 11:36:53 AM »
Once again, for those in New York, New Jersey & Connecticut, tonight's game is being broadcast on SNY SportsNet (home of the Mets).

Sunday's game against West Virginia is being broadcast on MSG (Madison Square Garden channel).

does this mean direct TV will carry these games for people out of the NY area?

Thanks in advance

My DVR picked up both games if you have the Sports package.  If you have the Colleges Hoops package, both games will also be shown there.

For anyone in the DC area, I know MASN has the MU game tonight.  not sure about WVU on Sunday though.

Do many restaurants tend to have ESPN Full Court? Possibly a Buffalo Wild Wings or something? I dont live in NY or WI, nor do I have direct TV. So is there any way I can watch this game??

Nearly any general sports bar worth its salt will have every sports package (including ESPN Full Court).  I have never found a Buffalo Wild Wings that did NOT have this package and I have been to quite a few so that should be a safe bet.  To be even more sure, I usually call an hour ahead to make sure they get the game and are willing to show it on one of their bigger screens.  Then get there a little early to claim a table in front of that screen.

I agree with Spiral.  :)  I have been to a number of BW3(s) and never had a problem with getting them to put on ESPN Full Court ... especially when it didn't interfere with the home teams.

Not sure if it affects anyone on this board, but one exception that I know of is the BW3's in Erie, PA.  They did not have Full Court last season.  Goes to show there is nothing good in Erie, except cheap beer.  ;)  Thankfully I could get it through the cable company.

MSG is a network that isn't always cleared on DirecTV, but I would imagine it'll be on somewhere else on Sunday, i.e. SNY, MASN, somewhere else.

Update: The game is on MASN and Altitude Sunday, which are two networks that are usually cleared, so those with access to those minus the Full Court package should be clear for Sunday.
