Title: [Paint Touches] Way-Too-Early roundup of MU rankings
Post by: PaintTouches on April 09, 2024, 09:12:21 AM
It legitimately makes no sense to rank teams when rosters aren't close to being set. And yet, that won't stop me from being positively surprised at all the MU love. Of the 10 I found, 9 have included MU. Breakdown at the link.

Top 20, but not top 10 sounds about right for this team going into next season.

Average ranking of 14th.

Throwing out the high and low (7 & UR) makes the average ranking 15th.

Another top 25 team should be expected.  Top 15 upside.  4-6 seed in the NCAA tournament.

Rothstein rankings are hilarious

Not because he has us 25(even if it seems to be lower than the current norm)

But for some reason Kolek and Oso are like the only two players in America that he’s penciling in as gone.

I’ll dedicate my life to saving manatees if Shead, Cryer, Love, Davis, Sears, Kalkbrenner, Alexander, Furphy all return. Especially considering almost every list is fully assuming them gone

Sh it he’s got Clayton for Florida back. That guy unlike Kolek has at least formally declared.

He's probably still salty about Shaka roasting him on CBS a few weeks back.

Definitely a lot of respect.  It'll be interesting to see what Kam does this offseason.  If he returns, my expectations will be to hop in and out of the top 25 throughout the year.  Given that we're losing a 2 time All American and another 2 time All Big East player, that's pretty dang good.  But it seems like my expectations are lower than most, and I thought we'd stink in 2022-2023, so hopefully I'll continue to sell Shaka short.

Cryer coming back, one down 7 to go for the manatees to get a bag drop.

LOL...keep the count going!

Although it won't be a bag drop.  I believe PGsHeroes said he'd dedicate his life to saving manatees, not his life's savings.

If Kam comes back, I don't think that we'll fall out of the top 25 all year. But we'll never really threaten the top 5 either. Comfortable 15-20 range.

Bump.  For those who don't know if Ben or Chase will see minutes on a top 10 team.  Honestly, by October/November, I can picture MU sneaking into mote top 10 polls due to continuity.
