So a liar on the left should be fired... but a criminal oxy-junkie on the right is OK with you.

Ad hominem attacks underscore the vacuity of your argument, as usual

Yup, because no one on the right would ever lie about anything, right? All 100% honest, straight shooters. ::)

If someone on the right had told this lie it would not have been covered up for 10 years.  It was allowed to survive because it's Brian Williams, it's Brian Williams!  Let's see if SNL does a skit on it this week.

I've never thought Williams didn't "seem to support our military so much."

However this was really dumb.

I wonder if Williams will go to his old stand by, Bill Maher to start his public redemption.  Two peas in a pod.

I've watched BW's NBC nightly news for years.  I saw the original story and did think it was odd I'd never recalled him being in a helicopter that was shot down.   Never would have known the story was false until the news came out .. but I read his apology and thought it was as best he could do.  And I'm fine with that.

TL;DR: Most people who like BW are still gonna like him.  Military folk and those who didn't like him in the first place, not so much.  He'll survive.

Is he really comparing a news journalist that is the face of a news organization to a talk show, entertainment host?  Did he really just do that?  Amazing....simply....amazing.

The guys needs to be canned. Lost all credibility in my eyes. Have a little trust in media to begin with and this just adds to my general lack of trust. Think he is a clever guy and maybe ESPN is a better fit for him.

He is definitely not a sports guy beyond casual fan. Also, he is not that clever. He is solely responsible for he (terribly written) copy.

NBC is still trying to figure out what to do with Nancy Snyderman after her Ebola debacle. She has basically been swept under a rug (while continuing to be paid).

Dan Rather got the heave ho for less.

Over the years I've actually liked Williams the best of the establishment anchors.

Rabble rabble rabble.

The man who reads stuff on the TEEE VEEE got caught in a lie.

If we held that standard to every mouthbreather that reads a teleprompter for a living (both left and right), the entire industry would be out of work.

I would LOVE to see that, but B-dub seems to be good friends with Tina Fey and everyone in the SNL camp (he had many cameos on 30 Rock, for instance), so I doubt SNL calls him out on it.

Tom Brokaw wants him fired.

http://pagesix.com/2015/02/05/tom-brokaw-wants-brian-williams-fired/

Interesting. The story says that Brokaw and NBC have known for years that Williams's account of the incident was BS and told him to stop repeating it. Now that Williams has been caught Brokaw is all over him - but he evidently didn't want to be the whistleblower. Convenient outrage on Tom's part, aina?

He isn't just reading a story someone else wrote - he wrote the story.

Exactly. As mentioned, he is solely in charge of his copy. This is not an opinionated talk format, he is supposed to broadcast factual information as news.
