Title: Why no TV IN THE Chicago area for a Big East Xavier game?
Post by: Marqevans on January 15, 2020, 07:39:00 AM
Any outlet to watch the XAVIER game in Chicago? It’s not on U-verse.  Is Fox sports Wisconsin an over the air channel or is it cable only?

I am going to miss this one as DISH is at war with the Fox Sports Regional in my area.    At least I will have scoop to provide a clear, consice, literate, and unbiased account.

Thanks for the morning chuckle, tower!

Trying to figure out how I'm gonna watch this one, too.

FS Wisconsin is a local RSN, just like CSN Chicago.

Not seeing it on xfinity either. May have to go to Kirkwoods, where I am 0-3 on games this year.

Just an fyi, John Ourand from the Sports Business Journal told me he thinks the earliest Dish gets a deal with Sinclair for the twenty something Fox Sports Regional Channels is TWO YEARS from now after not having it much of 2019. Yes I said two more years.

I switched some accounts to Youtube TV after being a long time Dish subscriber. (As well as cable and DirecTV) It has been good so far. They will get your local/regional Fox Sports Cable channel and its "plus" station as well. You can individually add anything they don't already have. You can re-visit it after a deal is made in future. Otherwise DirecTV and Cable will have it in your market.

The RSN's are listed in the Big East TV thread page, with the other games for tonight.

DISH may just make that ownership group of RSNs go bankrupt.  The RSN business is so overvalued and saddled with so much debt because of the rights they paid for professional team tv rights....not good.

I believe 3 conference games are FS WI only games this year, tonight, DePaul on Sat Feb 1, and StJ Sat Mar 7.  Great TV contract we got.

Not on cable in N.Y. market either.
Because it is the Big East, not the Big Midwest.
When we play, P., G.W., V, S.H., St. J., we are on.
When we play C., D.P., B., X, it depends on who from the east is on that day.
The decisions are made in N.Y.C. not Chicago.

For New York the game is tape delay on YES Network at Midnight. Also  available live on Fox Sports go App.

Here in New England, we are hosed with the SJU-PC contest (though to be fair, those two have a better combined BE record than X & MU).

Going to a bar with Direct TV (channel 640 or 669).

Pay for better cable programming and it wouldn’t be an issue.

I feel like I’ve traveled back in time not being able to watch my team play a conference game. This isn’t exactly MU-ECU in 1999. Perplexing TV/conference scheduling.

I have lived in Wisconsin for a grad total of 0 days while not be a student of Marquette for 4 undergrad years.

I have had 1 game since 2012 I was unable to get on tv out of state (and we lost to Omaha!). It’s easily doable with Directv, and other options as well.

I had most every game for years too. Then packages started to change, then the networks that carried MU changed from year to year. So yeah, I probably could find a provider/package that carried the game...but it's a pain in the arse to have to continually change.

Can’t argue with that. DTV has consistently provided the content, but I’ve also paid handsomely for television for the past 8 years. It’s not cheap for tv, but worth it to have a winter hobby!

I've got the game on TV, but checked the link and it works. You just have to close the overlay ad first.  (Small x on the right for my phone)

No overlay ad on my PC. It "appears" to be a legit FSWS site but it is not. Will asks for a credit card number to sign you up for an online 'book' service.

These a$$holes are so clever. I appreciate your attempt to help Rocky.

Weird. It doesn't appear legitimate at all to me. However, it does show the game stream.

Works for me .. I would recommend an ad-blocker if you don't have one already.  Just make sure you click the small x overlay and it'll remove the ad, let you stream.

What's with all the anti alcohol commercials talking to 10 year olds?
