I love seeing us getting all the allocades from the press with the preseason rankings and the high Big East conference finishes but I'm going to gauge my success of the season on how we do in the tourney.

I was very happy with the 4th place BE finish last year and while I was very disapointed with the first round loss to Alabama, I felt we still had a season beyond our wildest expectations.  This year will be different, I'm not going to be happy with finishing 3rd or 4th in conference... i'm really looking for us to advance in the Tourney to at least the second weekend and hopefully with the right match-ups, into the third weekend.

The more a team wins, the higher the expectations of the fans.  I really think this team has the ability to be special and i'm looking forward to the season.

Fire Up Marquette!!

My expectations for the team right now is a top 5 finish and winning at least 1 game in the NCAA.  Of course, that expectation could change drastically in the next 2 months depending on how the team looks and the Hayward situation.

If Hayward is as good as advertised and Barro, Lott and Kinsella are as improved as I think they are than I will have the raise the bar a little more and say that we would should contend for the Big East title.  As far as the tourny goes, I feel that anything can happen and would hate to say that the season was a failure due to a hot shooting hand.
