Interesting comments in the Oregonian. The AD backed Robinson at the end of season review only to bounce him five weeks later...OSU on the hook for $4MM payout

Howland? OSU AD and Howland have been talking for the past month

No worries, he'll be the next Secretary of State after the present idiot gets his tit out the wringer.

Put a wig on that guy and it's almost scary.

Odd timing.  The thing is, that is a fairly well run university and athletic department considering the disadvantages they have compared to their sister school in Eugene.

I'm not sure why they waited so long unless a donor stepped up to buy out the contract.

Would not be stunned to see him as DePaul next totally uninspired hire. Robinson should OWN Chicago recruiting.

How the hell is he still owed 4 million?  He had 6 middling years, so its not like he signed a big extension and he was kind of a stretch hire to begin with, that's just poorly done by the AD there.

Interesting to see where he ends up.  Political connections aside, his story is pretty cool.  Become wealthy and successful in finance, effectively retire in your mid 30s to take up coaching and make it to the D-1 HC level in under a decade?  Not bad.

I'm on the same career track.

Except for the wealthy, retire in mid-30s and D1 coach parts.

Nah, he is getting 4 Million walking money. And the village idiot just put forward his plan to get his bacon out of the fire. Global warming, instant deflection for the media to pick up on.

Same here, but I'm also not successful or in finance. But I have cool stories. Sometimes.
