Let's get back on track.
How are we 35 minutes from tip with no idea if McClung is playing?
-
Let’s kick some Hoya a$$
Yep, home cooked bulldog livers tonight.
Hoping for the run.
Brandon is DUE!
BB SOTG!!!!!!!

McClung in boot and Yurtseven in street clothes as well pregame

McClung in boot and Yurtseven in street clothes as well pregame
Can confirm. Visible from my seats.
-
They've played well without those two but man MU really needs to win this one. No excuses.
-
I guess the silver lining if Marquette chokes tonight is that Cheeks owes me 200 dollars
-
You're already set on that bet. DePaul isnt winning out lol
-
We get the Michael Stephens show tonight.
-
You're already set on that bet. DePaul isnt winning out lol
Unless georgetown beat them twice, theres still a chance bae.
-
Why're they claiming it's senior night tonight?

Audible boos for Wojo. Come on man.

Georgetown Unis are excellent

So they have 6 scholly players?

Audible boos for Wojo. Come on man.
Stop having late season collapses, don't lose games you should win constantly, show up to big games and you will stop hearing the boos.
-
Audible boos for Wojo. Come on man.
Are the boos for wojo or against wojo.
-
Please. PLEASE push the pace/play in transition

Really smart. Brings down the team. Influences recruits.

I think that Butler win was a fluke. Just 58 possessions (super slow) and the Hoyas shot 10/15 from deep, which is even more deadly in a low possession game. If we play at our pace, we win.
-
Are the boos for wojo or against wojo.
Awesome 👍

Not sure how that statement translated into "I was booing" But ok.

What's the NCAA record for number of shots left on the front of the rim in one game?

wow, actual ball movement.......
-
This resembles a buy game right now. Georgetown DOA.
-
wow, actual ball movement.......
This georgetown team is pretty much lost though. Interested to see if they can move it like this vs Seton Hall.
-
I expect GT to be bad, but this bad jesus
-
Only gonna have a couple pages in this thread if this keeps up
-
I expect GT to be bad, but this bad jesus
well, imagine how bad we would be if we lost that many starters
-
A spread out 2-3 zone that forces you to shoot jumpers is probably not a good plan vs a team like marquette.
-
well, imagine how bad we would be if we lost that many starters
I’m surprised the usual suspects who b!tch when we lose aren’t our in force to make excuses for us outplaying GTown.
-
Heat check by Jamal and then a flush!
-
Lose to teams above them, win the games below them. Mediocrity. There you go.

Good to see Cain playing well.
-
Good to have a confidence game for all. They’re going to need all they can get.
Good ball movement tonight.
-
believe it or not georgetown is a bubble ncaa team. manhandling them cannot hurt. nice to see a lot of guys get involved. we need some confidence ahead of seton hall
-

thats missing their best two players and others. We’re playing good but don’t try to act like this is normal GT

It is a start. Better than losing to both.

Kobys ball handling is atrocious

Really discouraging last few minutes of that half.
-
Kobys ball handling is atrocious
Decision making poor.
Court vision poor.
Move the guy off the ball. Please

trash end to the half....figures
-
It’s picky but it’s VERY apparent Wojo told Markus to defer and be unselfish. He’s been struggling lately, I’d prefer to unleash him early and let him get back in his rhythm before focusing on distributing. Either way, he’s playing great, should probably have 5 assists by now
-
McEwen looks lost on offense. Won’t take the open shot.
-
We had 4 assists in RI. We have 11 at the half.
-
Would take an 11 point halftime lead any day. But disappointed/concerned with the last five minutes, though.
-
I've seen multiple comments on Twitter about Woj being very non-demonstrative and showing little emotion this evening.
-
I did too.
I saw your use of tense there.
-

Concerned????
-
Wags, I prefer the other guys get going early and keep aggressive rather than being lulled into standing around waiting for Markus to get hot, The second half he should light it up vs. Gtown
-
Concerned????
With how we played the last 5 minutes? Sure.
-
Red Panda for SOTG.
-

I don’t know. We lost focus a little bit and they got hot for a few minutes. Just the normal ebb and flow of a game.
-

Warriors playing pretty well. GT sucks big time.
-
I don’t know. We lost focus a little bit and they got hot for a few minutes. Just the normal ebb and flow of a game.
Yeah. It happens and like I said I'd take up 11 at half any day. Strong start to the half would ease any concern.

You almost said something positive Willie!

Fire Wojo! You can tell he just doesn't care. #checkedOut #alreadyTookWakeJob

Good God i hope Koby is not our PG next year, he just makes us horrible, expect for 20 minutes against purdue n 10 minutes vs Xavier he has been an absolute trainwreck. Jamal good half but typical atrocious passing
-
koby is terrible

Did Markus get fouled the same way Powell did by Theo when Theo got tossed (2nd player after a foul called)?
Why wasn't the gtown guy tossed?

This.

Did Markus get fouled the same way Powell did by Theo when Theo got tossed (2nd player after a foul called)?
Why wasn't the gtown guy tossed?
Cause he’s never gotten a generous whistle. He draws a ton of fouls with his quickness, but he’s really not protected, still
-
The thing!
-
Really needed a game like this.
Very impressive. Don't care if Gtown is shorthanded.
Gotta clean up the TOs tho, those have been ugly. But diverse offense is niiiiiiiice
-
The thing!
It lives!

I don't want to pile on Koby but the team operates a lot better with Markus at the point
-

This version of Markus. When everyone is clicking, he can distribute well. When the offense slogs and he’s the primary handler and nobody is moving, it needs a slasher like Koby (ideally)
-
Koby benched For Symir, MU up 10. Now up 24. +14.
-
Not much mention of Jayce in here but he’s playing very well. Big defensive presence in the middle and 7 boards so far.
-

Agreed. Also helps that Georgetown is a pretty poor defensive team.

Not sold on our ability to handle a press.

Fine without Koby

Koby needs to actually earn minutes

Koby in big slump.
For the season that called being no good
Hopefully that was 4?
-
Not a slump he just isnt a good player most of the time
-
I believe Theo has made his last 10 field goals and 14 of last 16.
-
The thing!
Wojo and Stan were pretty fired up on the bench after that one.
-
Biggest issue with this team is Sacar n Koby are just not very good at all the bad passes, the bricks, the uncontested turnovers, the hesitation most of the time, the trainwrecks in transition, ... the air balls.
Just unfortunately not very good
Greg is hurt and sy not ready. Its too bad
Cant be very good with sacar n koby onnfloor
-
Please sit Koby
-
Travels n then wedges it... could he be worse?
-
Take him out please
-
Chartouney level offense
-
Crazy stat. With as aggressive as Georgetown has been in attacking on Defense. They only have 11 fouls. We have 17.
-

It feels like they have gotten a VERY friendly whistle tonight. It hasn't helped them much though.
-
This is one of the most complete games Markus has ever played. I don’t care who it was against, just unreal efficiency and control.

You can’t put Koby and Sacar in the same category. Not even close.
-

Seen it the last 4 weeks refs know they have 5-6 players n i belive subconsciencely are not calling fouls.
-
Koby probably done for night. Zero points, 3 turnovers, 4 fouls.
His last game was 5 turnovers and 3 fouls.
-
Press break super easy without Koby
-
Down 20+, 1 min left and Ewing still pressing?
-
Markus. 30 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 turnovers.
No video game player or getting obsessed with charting his shots tonight.
-
I don't think I've ever seen a losing team dribble it out with 20 seconds on the clock.
-

Dont disagree but sacar is very very subpar of a 5th year starting 3 in a power 6 conference, sadly

Was going to say the exact same thing. Best all-around game I can remember

As Georgetown continues to fade out of college basketball, this nugget: five straight years with no NCAA's. Last time that happened? 1974.
Ewing moves to 19-32 in three years of Big East play.

Crazy how ez it was
In fact we are simply light years better offensively with him on the bench

B*tch about wins. B*tch about losses. The Marquette way

Hellish season. I feel for you guys.

Feel like Ewing has done a great job. Defections, injuries have taken a huge toll and yet they have competed like hell and won a game or two I never would have suspected.

Your over-the-top criticism of Sacar is as idiotic as your over-the-top criticism of Fischer was.

I’d say this win officially clinched an NCAA birth. Something I’m not taking for granted.

Nah. They’re in.

You lost four players mid season to transfers, McClung for like 6 games and Yurtseven for 4. That is just brutal, especially McClung and Yurtseven, with them you had a chance. Cannot blame it on Ewing, but he needs to rebuild very quickly and Georgetown is not big on JUCOs. Believe 3 commits so far, but nobody really high ranked in 2020.
You will lose Allen, Yurtseven and Mosely and count in those four who transferred and that's seven scholarships open. Not good.

No one wants to say it, but a sixth year w/o an NCAA in 2021 puts some heat on Ewing, and Georgetown is not ready for that kind of discussion.

I'd imagine he'd resign to save face the way Mullin did

Well they actually chucked up a 3 and drilled it with one second left, cutting it from 24 to 21. Killing our NET!
-

Could imagibe this board if the last 5 years at Georgetown occurred n then the midseason akanno-gate!?!? 🤯🤯
-

Funny though. I wondered what happened with the score going form 69->72. Just re-watched the end, TV camera cut away to Wojo walking towards the handshake line with about 2.5s left, you see him pause, glance up, and then keep going - with a slight groan by the crowd.
-
Your over-the-top criticism of Sacar is as idiotic as your over-the-top criticism of Fischer was.
Hes prolly 7th or 8th relative to his position in the BE. Like the kid, reprents the U very well, just sub par. Part of why we are 18-8, 8-7. Solid on the cusp of very good team with a few too many problems, not not enuff solutions.
-
Georgetown is just so depleted at the moment. I’m feeling like I do after the December cupcake games right now. They weren’t able to bring a competitive roster to Milwaukee tonight. Although, in the end, it’s a nice top 60 NET win on paper.
Saturday is a statement game. Need that one to get some moment going heading into March.
-

For me...
Powell
Alexander
Scruggs
Heron
Sacar

Powell
Alexander

Sacar
I'd question the positions on this. I would assume Sacar is the "3" in our starting lineup. Powell, Alexander, Scurggs I would think are the "2s" in their starting lineups. Unless Sand Knit was generally talking about non-point guards than I would probably agree that he is somewhere in the 7th or 8th range.
-
Glad we seal-clubbed a team that has basically been reduced to playing walk-ons. The win likely punches our ticket to Dayton at least and a loss would have been a disaster.
Win 2 out of our next 3 and that's a fine finish that puts on us track for a seed that should win a NCAA game. Do that and Wojo's trajectory is upward.
But it really all depends on if Jekyll or Hyde shows up in those three games. If the @prov team shows up we're in trouble. If the vs. Butler team comes to play we could win all three.
Let's see.
-
I've seen multiple comments on Twitter about Woj being very non-demonstrative and showing little emotion this evening.
Following up on this. He was definitely sitting on the bench way more than usual. He is typically pretty demonstrative on the sidelines, so maybe this was an adjustment with the losing streak.
I wouldn’t say he looked checked out though. He was fired up by Cain’s play and when Markus did #TheThing. I think that may have been something Stan was working on because Wojo patted him on the back and was excited as soon as that happened.
-

Does Yurtseven have a chance to get a waiver? He played 2 years at NC State and 1 year at Gtown. Not sure of his exact circumstances, but he should have another year of eligibility no?

He's a senior and gone. If he was a junior, he would have probably been gone, he is borderline first round in some mock drafts.

But theoretically, if he wanted to stay (I am sure he'll go pro - who doens't want to play in G league!?!?!), could he get a waiver? I don't see why he wouldn't have another year of eligibility.
-
Why would he need a waiver? Wouldn't he just have the 4th year after sitting out one?
-

He is listed a senior. Most people that play 2 years somewhere, then transfer and sit out a year, are listed as RSJR. Koby for example isn't listed as a senior. Yurtseven is. Not sure why, exactly.

You don't boo a tournament team. A 3 game losing streak isnt a late season collapse. Grow tougher and don't be a whiny b*tch
Jake, losing 3 games in a row wasn't the reason the fans were feeling the way they were feeling. It was the way they played in the 3 games which if you are being honest with yourself was not good and that's putting it lightly. In all 3 games they failed to answer the bell at the start of the game. The way they started the last 3 games, I think it's justified. Tournament team or not.
Jury is still out. For me, yesterday's win over a team in free-fall doesn't instill any new confidence that this team is going deep. I'm glad they won, I feel better than I would have had this game been close but If I'm betting, I'm still shorting MU for this season. It's not about being tough, it's about rationalizing what you are seeing.
-

Booing your team is never justified. Especially so with college kids. Booing happened in gsme 2 of big east season. This is about being tough. Being a better person. Quit scapegoating sh*tty fan behavior and look in a mirror.
Was the streak frustrating? Sure. The Providence game soured my mood a bit that day. Still doesn't justify stupid behavior. Be the positive difference, rather than a useless detractor--it's selfish and shows a lack of support for kids who are busting their asses off day in and day out while you armchair.

Very classy that you feel it is okay to boo your team and then try to justify it. Tells me a lot more about you and these other so called fans, than it does the team. I was as frustrated as anyone with the three game losing streak, but it would never have occured to me to boo at yesterdays game. What I find interesting is that for the most part the most critical and vocally negative fans were never even close to being a division I athlete. They have no clue what it is like to compete or coach at this kind of level on a daily basis. It is far from easy and teams go through bad stretches and good stretches and the really, really good teams are able to limit those bad stretches, but like our '77 team, they still have them. Booing is never good unless the team or coaches are doing something illegal, unethical or they just don't care. That is absolutely not the case here.

Only those teams that are justified in doing so because 1) they won a title 40 years ago (HERITAGE) and 2) they spend money on the program.

No worries, you can blame it on my age, as well as other stating the "fans" were saying Wooojjj
