TAMUI do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.
MUers are united in their grief, prayers and concern for D Wade's family.
This, and only this.
Simply tragic. How many murders in Chicago this year? How many in the past 5 years? When will it stop?
Thanks for having some class.
Maybe, just maybe Wade's stature with the help of Melo, CP3 and LeBron's, a dent can be made in this and a turning around can be begun. Mom's should not have to worry mid day about walking their kids. This is insane and so, so sad.
Ditto so to this. Full agreement. Sadly, many times, it takes a celebrity's involvement, directly or indirectly to draw attention to an issue. Prayers for all of those who try to live life the right way and still suffer
For some odd reason, I get the feeling that hilltopper doesn't trust us/me.
This issue is way deeper than celebrity lip service. This is a systemic issue that has gone on far too long. Unfortunately, solutions have been very hard to come by. The carnage that takes place in inner city Chicago is unbelievable.
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
100,000 active gang members in Chicago. Almost entirely on the city's south and west sides. With numbers like that it's a miracle it's not more rampant in the city (thanks Joliet, aurora and the south suburbs for taking some of those gang members). This is a terrible tragedy as is every innocent bystander killed in Chicago but before everyone says how terrible Chicago is let's take a look and note that from 1968 to 2003 Chicago did not see a single year with less than 600 killings. Since 2003 we've been almost entirely in the 400s with two outliers in 2008 and 2012. Despite what the media would have you believe, it's actually better controlled currently than at any point since the mid 1960s.
Controlled?
Bull: Well how come we’re the only company marching every Friday night, twelve miles, full pack, in the pitch dark? Winters: Why do you think, Private Randleman? Bull: Lieutenant Sobel hates us, sir! Winters: [pauses a moment] Lieutenant Sobel does not hate Easy Company, Private Randleman – he just hates you! [the rest of Easy Company laughs] Bull: Thank-you-sir!
