Beating Marquette and Creighton would give MU 4 wins over the top 20 RPI. That's gotta be as good as anyone on the bubble. The only other conference that has that many top 20 RPI teams is the ACC so Marquette should have as good of opportunities as anyone on the bubble.

That shouldn't be too tough! We tend to beat ourselves all the time with bad defense and ugly turnovers.

MU currently has 3 top 50 RPI wins according to espn. Also have wins against vandy(62), georgia(51) and gtown(60). All 3 of those teams outside of the top 50 i think can sneak into the top 50 which would give them 5-6 wins

Seriously, you expect MU to beat X, will not happen. St. Johns, maybe, they are way to athletic for MU.  Creighton, doubt it.  Can never duplicate what MU did down
there, will not happen.  Providence there, no chance.  I see MU losing the rest of there games.  1-4 is possible.

Just looked at the remaining schedule and St. John's is the only game MU could "expect" to win. This team has shown its true colors with the level of play exhibited the last five games.

So when we play our worst it's our true colors. We play well and we just got lucky. Got it.

I will say the last five games have lowered my expectations but a team is not defined by their worst performances. You have to look at the whole season. Marquettes true colors are somewhere between the team that dominated Vandy/won at Creighton/came back against Nova and the team that got blown out by GTWN/SJU/MICH

I agree. This season can still be salvaged. Xavier at home without their best player (and maybe their 2nd best one?) should give us a jump start.

Two Saturday home games, which usually draw the biggest MU crowds that are both against RPI top 20 teams. Protect the home court with a loud Bradley Center crowd helping and MU will be fine.

I think it's hard for anyone to have really enjoyed the past 2 weeks, but it's still there for the taking.

Anyone seen an update on Blueitt? Any legit chance he's out another 2 games?

I won't cry if Bluiett is out, just as nobody felt sorry for us when we were without Dom or Otule when they got hurt, but I'd rather he play.

We can earn it whether he plays or not!

Even if we go 5-0 down the stretch and win two games in the BET, I'll still be biting my nails on Selection Sunday.  That's how little faith I have in the composition of our roster and the coaching staff.  Unfortunately I don't we have to worry about being nervous on Selection Sunday because we have virtually no chance of even being
on the bubble.  Of our remaining 5 games, 3 are against top 25 teams and the other two are against teams that may have worse conf records than us, but still both beat us already, one by 15 pts.  As much as I want to be optimistic, The way we've been playing of late, a  2-3 record for our last 5 is exceeding expectations at this point.  Wish it wasn't so, but I'm with BC Hoopster on this.

If Marquette goes 5-0; they'll be at worst an 8 seed. Could jump all the way up to 6. Obviously very unlikely we'll go 5-0, but the first part of your comment sort of proves you don't really understand the current landscape of college hoops.

So, what you're saying is that even if the Warriors exceed the amount of faith you have in them and go 5-0 and then win 2 BET games- giving them 22 wins for the season and 13 in the conference - the Selection Committee will ignore all of those facts and will instead say, "Well, Marquette is qualified, but PorkysButthole has so little faith that we'd better give the final bid to DePaul."

Excellent logic!

I get that the selection committee may discount a win against a Blueitt-less Xavier team, but honestly, let's take any help we can get to get some momentum back. A win would still improve our record and RPI, which also matter for selection and seeding.

NCAA looks at RPI more than just about anything else. Our current rpi is 85. SH is 49, GT is 59 and Prov. is 68.

That's true but with our remaining games our RPI will be much improved and hopefully we can win 3-4 of them.
I still have faith in this team. One week to prepare...we better bring it.

Not this year...the committee seems to value top 50 wins above anything else.
