That's a great story.  Shows how everything in your youth can have an impact.  Glad he's able to put on the jersey this year.

From TBT FAQs:

What are the roster limits?

Teams can have a max of 15 players. The first 9 on your roster are free if they’re added before 12pm (noon) ET on June 1, 2017. Teams can have an unlimited amount of Coaches and Boosters.

How do we add Players to our team if we already have 9 or if it’s after June 1, 12p EST?

You must pay $1,000 per player up until the tournament starts. As you advance through the tournament, you may add more players, but it will cost increasing amounts. It’s $2,000 to add a player heading into the Super 16 and $3,000 to add a player heading into the Semifinals. See more in the Rules.

Interesting. Didn’t know teams can add players so late. I wonder if or when we’ll see a legitimate NBA star (presumably a recently-retired one) join a roster for the final two games.

Was checking out the other semifinalists and realized that one of them features a former Warrior: https://www.thetournament.com/teams/eberlein-drive

Liam McMorrow is on Eberlein Drive's roster and even lists Marquette(/Tennessee Tech) as his alma mater. He hasn't played in the last two rounds but he did play before that.

Why was it that he wasn't allowed to play here but was elsewhere?

How it was told to me was that he had a heart condition and our team docs wouldn't clear him to play.  Tennessee techs must have come to a different conclusion. Who was right? IDK

If he didn't collapse and die in practice or on the court, Tennessee Tech's doctors were right.  Or at least relieved.  It's a liability issue.  Same thing happened with Jarvis Johnson at Minnesota, even though external doctors (Mayo, I think) said he was OK to play.

Wouldn't be the first time docs disagreed on ability to play (Bosh with blood clots, Kawhi with the quad, etc.)

Yeah, Doc, $2M big ones.

I mean, that would cover almost an entire year's beer purchases for me!

If you signed up to vote for them on the fan page, you get a share of the $2million.  IIRC, my share was $1000.

You can.  See the TBT website.

Don't think so. Many months ago they had a couple of years available and I scooped one (for like $15!)... but, they appear to have been sold out of MU jerseys for a looong time.

Looks like Luca is working on that footwork.

And his distribution skills.  See that nana toss while looking away?  Quick, I gotta go get an update in the recruiting thread.   ;D

I think everyone currently in the money will likely get knocked back a category or two. Our top few fans have 600-800 points. There are teams that are eliminated with fans who have thousands, some over 10,000.

At any time, you can switch teams, but you lose half your points. So if MU beats Overseas Elite, I quite a few people to switch teams before the final.

And so it begins...the new Golden Eagles fan leader has 3,704 points. Definitely sacrificed half their points to get in line for the $40,000.

All the shares are on the team page on the TBT website.

What I found is a listing of salaries, which are all equal. Is that the page you are referring to?

Yes, some teams have different salary levels for players, some all take a $1 salary and donate the winnings to charity (Like Team Challenge ALS).

I believe could not play here, because MU took him off the team for medical reasons. This allowed MU to still give him a scholarship. The also allowed MU to use his basketball scholarship. This made him ineligible to play at MU.

No, your understanding is wrong. See Bylaw 15.5.1.2.2 Change in Circumstances. You can later compete for the same institution. The issue is (CAN BE, depending on the school/sport’s specific circumstances) that you then become a counter for all years that you were receiving aid under the medical exemption.
