It's so the players can see it.    ;)

It's so the cameras can see it. They could just as easily have them on the other side and be just as visible to the players. More so, because players on the bench could see it too.

Now instead of milking the clock at the 2 minute mark, we get to see the leading team start milking the clock with 7 minutes left.  How exciting!

Trade some of our role players for DJO, Buycks, and Rowsey, keep Cook and this team could make a run at a title next year.

Another fun afternoon. It's a great seeing many of our favorite players from the past. Crowd filled in nice as the game went on. I enjoyed my courtside seats. Hearing the talking to keep it clean was pretty sweet!

Mo Acker was outstanding!

Huh. Who wouldn’t want to watch a pick up game on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of summer?

Curious, why did Steve Novak not play?  This format would make him really stand out.

So another weekend of entertaining hoops. Props to the guys from Georgetown, St. John's, and Seton Hall for putting together teams and flying out to compete.  I sincerely hope the Gtown and SJU boys hit Summerfest either last night or today.  It's a lot of fun and some pretty high level hoops is played.  Anyway, it beats typing on my computer.   :)

I think what really impressed me the most about the Golden Eagles team this weekend was the defense. First of all, Bowers, Cook, and Atwood are solid additions that can all be physical. Chapman had the team pressing, playing aggressive, mixing between man and zone, and creating turnovers. It's rare to see summer teams in any league that make defense a priority. I think that could really serve them well.

He is under contract, isn't allowed to play, and encouraged his friends from the bench wearing Pistons gear.  Dwight's all in.

+1

The last two years was individual talent and mostly playground ball.  These guys are working hard this year to be a team on both the offensive and defensive ends.

Yes that is correct. His NBA contract does not allow him to participate.

I'd be fine with other solutions as well. If not for the Elam Ending, yesterday easily could've turned into a dull foul fest in the final minutes of both games. Close enough games that teams think they have a chance, but far enough away that it's going to look like any other drab ending. The basketball endgame has long needed a fix. Whether this is the decisive one or not, something should be done to keep the last 4 minutes from taking 15-30 of real life time.

Hate it.  Better way to fix hack-a-thons is to give the team on the receiving end free throws and the ball out of bounds.  Or, the fouled team has option to not shoot free throws and take the ball out of bounds, instead.
“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
