Joe Lunardi ESPN has Marquette as a # 6 Seed Playing # 11 Pittsburgh in Denver in the South Louisville Region. Winner plays # 3 Seed Texas # 14 Seed Cornell Winner
Slightly convinced Lunardi looks at what could be an intriguing matchup when doing these early brackets. Playing Greg w/ a chance to play Shaka's old team. That or i'm just looking to hard into this.
Torvik says that the closest comp to this year's team is the 2017 MU team. The 2018 MU team is also in the top 10 comparable teamshttps://www.barttorvik.com/profile-compare.php?team=Marquette&year=2023&cov=1&o=4&d=4&tt=4&efg_w=1&oreb_w=1&tov_w=1&ftr_w=1&defg_w=1&doreb_w=1&dtov_w=1&dftr_w=1&threerate_w=1&talent_w=1&exp_w=1&ht_w=1
If the bids went out today, MU is a4 or 5 seed, NOT a 6.
I'd rather be a 6 than a 4 or 5.
What's your reasoning behind that?Being a 4 or better should be the goal. 13 seeds are 'typically' where the talent disparity is noticable. 5/12s have shown to be tossups.
It's about the second/third round matchups. Playing into a 3 and 2 and not seeing a 1 until the E8 can be an easier road, especially as upsets (and thus easier paths) are more likely for those 3s and 2s than 1s.
I guess I'm mostly interested in winning game 1 and worrying about a 2nd round matchup if we get there.
Who's still projected as better?
