Buzz wearing combat boots and wiping the floor, then the players joining in.  Classic way to start the season.

I wouldn't play Otule or Gardner much on a floor that slippery, with both coming off knee injuries.

Call the game.....hold an open scrimmage at a local high school.....get in GREAT preseason work with the #4 team in the country and move on to the rest of a very tough nonconference schedule.   The cold weather and slippery floor are just not worth it, as much as I anticipated this game...it seems foolish to play.

Just play in the morning, it's supposed to be a beautiful day.  No point in everyone being tentative, and even worse if there's an injury.  Start at 10 am, finish by noon, get the team home by 3 CST and they have a day before Sunday's game, more if you can push it back a little.

Thad Matta...."For the best interests of the players we are not going to play the game. The condesation keeps coming back and at this early stage, Buzz and I have talked and the AD's have talked....it's probably not worth risking..uh, uh...it's not one posession it's two hours of basketball and we don't think we can keep the floor dry."

Now you can interpret his politically correct tone anyway you want.

I think it was more the fact that he only referenced what Marquette players said about the floor being bad. That made it seem like it was a politically correct jab.

Didn't get the impression that Thad wanted to risk it.

Would have hoped they could have just played early tomorrow morning.  Would either team really be unable to beat their cupcake on Sunday if they got home 24 hours before that game started?

Sucks your game got canceled. Don't see why they couldn't have moved the game to citadel right away just give it an hour to move the teams and the fans to a different venue. Maybe it wouldn't be televised anymore, but it's better than not playing at all.

Citadel was a rain backup. I have to imagine moving this event there would have been planned in advance, not at tip-off.
