If Wesley Matthews has really bought an Audi R8, he is driving a car whose starting price is $147,500. It is certainly within his new budget, of course, but a bit surprising for a guy who seems so smart and grounded.

If Wesley wanted European, what was wrong with a VW Jetta SEL with leather-wrapped steering wheel and multifunction trip computer?

An awful nice ride at about $24,000.

VW makes AUDI.

and Jetta's are for girls.

I'm relieved that one of my daughters (the MU grad) and not one of my sons drives a Jetta.

You're supposed to use teal when using sarcasm. You are using sarcasm, right? Please tell me you're kidding.

He has the money to buy any car he damn well pleases. He's set for life. Even if he blows every cent he makes in salary he'll still have his per diem, licensing money, and pension when he hits the ripe old age of 40.

Either way he'd still be rolling in a Nazi sled, same thing with a Lambo

Wes shoulda went Italian or English

A Lamborghini is Italian.

That R8 is one of the best cars currently made.

English cars are, generally speaking, crap for the money. Aston Martin is a good car, but for the money you can do a lot better.

Dollar for dollar the best cars are Porsches.

The discussion about VW Jettas makes me not want to associate with you people. Please stop. You're embarrassing the rest of us.

And Jettas are a chick car. A hot chick car, but still a chick car.

Which is also owned by VW.  Volkswagen AG (the mothership) alternates with Toyota on a month to month basis as the largest automotive manufacturer in the world.

Well, that doesn't sound very grounded.  He should be riding the bus.

I am “supposed to use teal when using sarcasm”? Uh, supposed to?

I expect that well-educated and astute members of the Marquette community are able to grasp a joke without a roadmap.

Others obviously are not.

Teal? Come on!
