Marquette starts the year 87.
106th on offense and 67th on defense.
Discuss as you wish

We are all hoping for better. But they don't care what we want. These are fair preseason assessments. But ultimately they are meaningless
-
4-8 in 2021 portion of schedule (with two Charleston games not included). 6-14 in the Big East, 2nd to last finish. At least eight Top 30 games.
Low expectations, pre-season. I think we can hit .500 in the BEAST. Play Top 40 Defense. Peak late in the season for once. Transfers are better than what KPom or T Rank will give credit this early.

I wouldn’t call these meaningless. I also wouldn’t say it dooms a team to that result. It gives a pretty good baseline for where the program is as they enter the season. Let’s revisit at the end of the year. It’ll give us a good idea what this team is capable of moving forward

I think this is a correct assessment of our talent and experience on paper

Kinda in line with the idea that we don't know what we don't know about this team

I hope you are right DB! It will be a way more interesting year if that’s the case.

I think we can hit .500 in the BE also. The national forecasters are simply treating Marquette like any team that is not a Blueblood or has not been a major power in recent years. New coach, major rebuild, lots of tranfers and freshmen= a poor rating. Can't blame then one bit. I'm thinking ESPN's projection of Justin as the #41 pick in the NBA draft, Moresell, Kuath's talent and hopefully a healthy Greg = Marquette having a decent season.

There will probably be at least 6 games that come down to the last two minutes. How we do in those games will determine whether it is a good season or not. Experience matters in those games. What matters more is whether the team has clutch player. I have no idea if this team has a clutch player.

I’d guess it’s owned by a Texas douche-nozzle.

And, that’s awfully high given the departures.
